Steamboat is probably in better shape than Flair has been in the last 10 years. I'm sure they won't juice him and he'll go back to the backstage after this week.

I agree Cena is stale though, but dead lifting 700 pounds on his shoulders was crazy.

And I must say, discussing wrestling on Kingsfans is something I didn't expect for some reason. Welcome addition.
I thought we used to have a 'Sports Entertainment' thread around here. I'd welcome one, especially if we had Slim moderating it to keep the "Don't you know it is fake" mess out of it.

In Oregon? Be worth the drive if I weren't so busy with school. They're great live.
So the X show was tonight. It was an all request dealio, heard some stuff I hadn't heard them play live before. Steve Soto opened with his (new?) band the Twisted Hearts who were very good too. I didn't realize he was doing rootsy music now.

Close call

So 3 of my wife's relatives flew in to Sacramento last night and are on their way down to Modesto to take care of some family business over the next couple days. We visited with them in Davis for a while last night.

Apparently they had a close call at their stopover location (Denver). When landing in Denver (foggy and windy, apparently), they had the back wheels down and were decellerating when they accelerated again and looped around for another approach and landing. The pilot came on and said it was due to weather conditions. The relatives, in window seats, had looked out and saw something else - another plane crossing their runway underneath them.

I just went to a store that specializes in selling batteries, to buy a spare battery for my laptop; they told me that the model of batteries was discontinued.

I bought this ****ing thing less than two years ago. I'm some kinda pissed.

Sometimes its cheaper to buy a new laptop instead of the battery.

Since most people avoid doing CPU intesive work on their laptops obsoleting the batteries is the best way to get you to buy a new one every 2-3 years.

I hate dealing with insomnia. I've been struggling with it off and on (mostly on) for months. **sigh** Dangit! I have to get up for work in 4 1/2 hours. It would help to be asleep when it's time to wake up.

I can sympathize with that. I'm doing better now, but suffered insomnia almost nightly for a long time. It was awful to finally fall deeply asleep an hour or two before the alarm went off. At least it was some sleep, I guess.

BTW Slim, I'd be pi**ed, too. Big time.

Yikes! Reminds me of the Tenerife Disaster.

That is interesting. His explanation for it sounds eminently reasonable to me. I'm always a little mad about not being better able to remember certain events ot time in my life, but I'm glad I don't remember in as much detail as this woman.

I read her book last year. Very interesting. I have a good memory, though not anywher near hers. Sometimes it freaks people out when they mention a date and I tell them what day of thw week it was. Sometimes I can even remember what I was wearing on a particular day...weird.

Oh, come on. That is pretty easy when all you wear is a Kobe jersey day after day after day.......

Man Pretending to Fall Off Bridge Actually Falls

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,517702,00.html

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Police said a 23-year-old man is in stable condition after he pretended that he was falling off a bridge over the Minnesota River, then actually fell off the bridge.
Police got a call just before 5 a.m. Sunday from a 21-year-old man who said his friend fell off the Highway 77 bridge and into a marshy area about 30 feet below.
The caller said he was driving north when his friend, who he said had been drinking, told him to pull into the bridge's emergency lane so he could urinate.
The 23-year-old stood eventually climbed to the ledge of the bridge, then looked at his friend and pretended to fall. "He then in fact fell," reads a press release from the Bloomingtin Police Department.
Police from Bloomington and Eagan responded, and the Eagan Fire Department used a chair lift to retrieve the man. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where was treated.

Coke? Good? Does not compute.

Sour apple is where it's at.
This may come as a shock, but most places don't have sour apple. Most places have Coke or Cherry Coke and some lame fruity flavor like cherry or blue raspberry. Being a fan of Coke (Pepsi sucks), I will always take a Coke slurpee.
