Not so fast...

Irsay says "nothing's been determined"
Colts owner Jim Irsay isn't waving the white flag just yet, telling the Indianapolis Star that there's still a chance Marvin Harrison could stay with the team.

"Marvin and I are talking [Tuesday] at mid-afternoon and we'll see where we go from there,'' Irsay said, according to the Star. "I'm not going to start talking like he's not here, because nothing's been determined officially by any stretch.''

Rumors have Albert Haynesworth going to Washington on a 100+ million dollar deal (not official).

Recently released 49er Tully Banta Cain is back in New England.

More rumors: Sage Rosenfels to Minnesota. Minny is a team I thought honestly could use Cassel, this is what they go with instead??? Deal is supposed to happen on Friday.

The Vikings wanted him last year too, but the price was too high for them. I'm not aware of any Childress-Rosenfels connection in the past. This makes no sense unless they think this is another Matt Schaub scenario. Another year wasting that good D with all backup QB's. Glad I'm not a Vikes fan.

Yeah what a terrible move for Minnesota. I figured they'd be going hard after Cassel, as they should be. With a good QB, they would be extremely dangerous. But this makes no sense. They may as well sign Rex Grossman too.

Sage Rosenfels singlehandedly lost the Week 4 game to the Colts, blowing an 17 point fourth quarter lead (with less than four minutes left) and then throwing a game ending interception. He tried to match it in the second meeting of the season, throwing another game ending interception.

I was fully expecting him to retire at the end of the season.

Don't forget those fumbles either

Sad day in Tampa

ESPN: Bucs to release LB Derrick Brooks

Linebacker Derrick Brooks, one of the greatest players in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history, was told Wednesday he will be released before the start of free agency along with four other veterans.

Brooks is an 11-time Pro Bowler and a potential Hall of Famer. Also informed of their impending releases were wide receivers Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard, halfback Warrick Dunn and linebacker Cato June.
Wow, Tampa is cutting payroll I guess.

It's a sad couple days if you are a NFL fan, seeing longevity and classy guys like Brooks and Harrison cut.

But they will land somewhere.

Yeah, Derrick Brooks is getting old. I'm surprised he's still in the NFL at that position. I expected the Warrick Dunn and Cato June releases. Ike Hilliard is kind of surprising because he had a decent year last season, but Antonio Bryant is the clear number one in that receiver corps. I'm interested to see if Tampa has their eyes on a receiver in the first round.

This draft isn't as impressive as last year's was, but there are a good number of receivers available.

You are right, Bryant is a beast. But we shall see if it was just a flash-in-the-pan sort of year for him. I picked him up off the waivers in my fantasy league and he helped carry my team to the title.

Tampa will definitely look like a new team next year - new coach and all.

Wow, those are some big names being released. Also today, the Chiefs released Patrick Surtain, Donnie Edwards and Damon Huard. I think we'll see a few more big names being released in the next couple of days.

I think I heard the bucs have like close to $50 million in cap space. Wow wonder who they are going to sign. You know they're gonna be big players in free agency.

Depending on the philosophy they're going to embrace going forward, they might just build through the draft. But if they're going to do the free agency thing, I could see them signing Matt Cassel. If Julius Peppers wasn't franchise tagged, they'd be going after him also. Still might.

you could be right supe. For sure gruden would have been after the free agents but then again he might not have released these old timers as he always preferred the vets. Not sure what the new guys name is but I hear he's the next coming of tomlin(both are products of the Tampa system) and he may be a build a team through the draft kind of guy

I like picking up Fred Taylor. Pats go through so many RB's may as well add him to the mix. Last time we had a name back we won a couple Super Bowls.

Just one with Corey Dillon, right? Either way, that's a good signing for the Patriots. I'm assuming he'll be around 10-15 carries a game, you still have Maroney, still have Faulk for third down. Still have LaMont Jordan, Sammy Morris.

On the Redskins signing Haynesworth, that's the best news a Colts fan could ask for. I think they paid waaaaaay too much, but whatever it takes to get that guy out of the division.

I knew Vrabel didn't have much time left with the Pats, sad to see him go though glad he's going to friendly territory, though I'd rather it be the Broncos so I could still cheer him on. I still like all the Pats extended family with the exception of the Rat.
