Its Ron-Ron were talk'n bout here, or Bill, or crazy head case? whatever you wanna call him...

I was not surprised to hear that after Yao publicly came out and expressed worries about Bill (lol! make me laugh every time now) coming to Houston. Ron Responded with the usual crazy comments that leave you shaking your head and as a kings fan thinking that Aug 14th isnt close enough! ! !

heres a quick quote
" I understand what Yao said, but I'm still ghetto. That's not going to change. I'm never going to change my culture. Yao has played with a lot of black players, but I don't think he's ever played with a black player that really represents his culture as much as I represent my culture."-Bill(tru warrior)

holly $#*! LOL! in a way as long as this goes through i will kinda miss all the laughs... but maybe it will be funnier when they don't involve the kings.

Rons comment's on the Brawl "Somebody was disrespecting me, so he's got to understand where I'm coming from."-Bill

nothing helps people understand where your coming from better than a punch to the face! LOL! AAAAAHHHHHHHHH wow!

LOL! so this trade isn't binding in anyway until Aug 14th...so it could be shot down... we have 16 days for Ron to get himself arrested or say something stupid about Yao. so far he's made it one day...

I was afraid this was going to happen....these 16 days are going to be the LONGEST 16 days ever in the life of a Kings fan!

If RonRonMcBillBill does anything to negate this trade, I hope the Maloofs send him home and let him rot there.

I'm not sure what bearing this has on anything, unless the Rockets were previously unaware that they were trading for Ron Artest.

And there it is there. They knew they weren't getting a Chior boy, this is Ron Artest. He comes complete (repleat?) with baggage. Suck it up Yao, he's your problem now. Have fun.

Yeah, I don't see a problem here. On the radio tonight Artest said he was cool with Yao and all that good stuff. Same old stuff, no big deal, the trade will go through and he'll say more dumb stuff but nothing that matters and he'll help the Rockets win a lot this season.

the problem is that perception can too easily become reality, and I can see cold feet kicking in pretty easily if Ron makes himself a pain int he *** before he even shows up in Houston.

Actually Yao's comments were kind of out of line to tell you the truth -- sounded like he himself might have been trying to scuttle things. Certainly not how you greet a new teammate, even if its true. But then Ron...Ron is an idiot. One day after a trade that frees him up and gives him what he claims he wanted, he opens his mouth and out spews all the same garbage. I'm so ghetto. I'm an idiot and proud of it. Oh, and you guys taking a chance on my stupidity is not enough, you have to show me the money too. And then to top it off he plays a race card.

We need to get Ron off to one of our desert islands with no phone service until the trade officially goes through. He's more than enough fool to blow everything for himself, as he has always done, and blow it for us int he process this time too.

Can we just send him on another "humanitatrian" trip somewhere there aren't any phones for a couple weeks????

I absolutely love this deal (take a look in the "Possible trade scenarios" thread in the personnel forums, I predicted this trade weeks before it happened). I'll be extremely mad if Ron manages to screw this up. Just keep your mouth shut! And honestly, all this talk of being "ghetto" is just embarassing.

Something like Ron running his mouth isn't going to change Morey's mind. As a Houstonian, I'm pretty sure that we kew what we were getting into when we signed him.

Meh, we'll see what happens.

What worries me more is the comment in the Bee Article:

"We've still got to make sure there's still a commitment (from the Rockets)," Artest said. "That's the main thing, is to make sure there's still a commitment. When I speak to the powers-that-be of the Houston Rockets' organization, we're going to find out how much they really want me there. We'll find out. I'm still waiting to find out if this is just a trade or if this is like a long-term commitment-type thing. I haven't spoken to anybody yet. I'm still waiting."

If Ron is going to make Houston miserable and demand some sort of long term commitment even before he sets on the floor, it could make Rockets real nervous before the deal is inked.

Dear Ron: If you really want a long term commitment you have to earn it, you have to shut up in the short-term, show your skills on the floor, show you can play team ball, get along and blend in with your new team mates, make the team a better team, THEN you will earn the Rockets respect and a long-term commitment and probably an extended contract.

Seriously, earn your spot on a 55 win team, and help us get to at least the 2nd round of the playoffs, then talk long term.

That's what worried me most, too. Seriously, why can't he just shut up? He's not normal. He's really, really beginning to annoy me now. Just shut the hell up and stop whining. As said before, the Rockets are not going to commit long term until you prove to them it's a good move. Ron knows we aren't committing, so why risk getting the trade stopped when he would be going to a contending team?

He's not right. And I mean that in the least offensive way possible.

if this deal is called off i want the kings to give a special payback to ron. let him rot on the bench all season. then see how many bids the rusty psycho will get

What has Ron Artest done this year (off-court) that Kobe hasn't done?

Abuse women..check
Demand to leave the team...check
Change his mind...check
Disrupt teammates...check
Ballhog...check

I think it will be fine. He's not saying screw Yao Ming, or screw Houston, he just said..I'm ghetto. Yao probably should have held his tongue, even if he spoke to team members that may have had concern, or if the concern was all his. McGrady is ecstatic that Ron is coming, so it'll be fine.

I wouldn't be suprised if Adelman isn't calling everyone today telling all players to shut their mouth's until Ron gets here.

Artest, who will be dealt to the Rockets on Aug. 14 in a trade completed Tuesday afternoon, told the Sacramento Bee he was excited about going to the Rockets but would join them only if they are committed to him. Much of Artest’s hesitance was an apparent reaction to Yao Ming’s wariness of the trade, expressed Wednesday on the Chronicle’s Web site.
“We’ve still got to make sure there’s still a commitment,” Artest told the Bee. “That’s the main thing. When I speak to the powers-that-be of the Houston Rockets organization, we’re going to find out how much they really want me there.”
Sounds like Bill wants a long term contract before he agreed to join the Rockets. Will they give it to him?

If they're smart, no.

It's not as if Ron wants to be here, why doesn't he just keep his mouth shut and go to a better team? If Ron was any bit sane he'd choose playing on a contending team for a season rather than a losing team for a season, knowing that the losing team definitely won't re-sign him and the contending team might just do that.

I'm so sick of him at this stage. This is a very good deal for us, I wish he'd just keep his mouth shut.

I posted this in another thread regarding Amick's article:

They played a clip from the Carmichael Dave show last night (I think that's where it was from) on the Rise Guys this morning and Ron was saying how it was Yao and T-Mac's team. He would be glad to be a role player, come off the bench, or wear those little Richard Simmons shorts if need be.

Much ado about nothing. Seems like the journalists are trying to spin up a story out of nothing. Yao's comments may have committed the sin of honesty and broke NBA Player Man Code or whatever, but they're not that bad. And Artest doesn't miss an opportunity to act aggrieved, but even his reaction isn't extreme for him.

Now, I wouldn't put it past Ron to convince himself that he deserves a max deal extension from Houston between now and August 14th, but the Rockets know what they're getting and are hoping Adelman can work his magic. They're not going to scuttle this deal.

Its very easy to react quickly and emotionally to Ron and his statements. There's no doubt that our skin is getting a little thin at this point. But if you step back and try to look at the whole thing rationally, Houston did know what they were getting, so I don't think any of this is a surprise to them.

If their intent from the beginning was to just have Ron for a year to make a serious run, and let the chips fall where they may later. Then what do they really care what he says or does right now? What they do know, is that he's in the last year of his contract and wants the money. So to get the money he wants, he needs to play his little butt off, and thats really all they want from him. At the end of the year they can then pass judgement on the results. They retain his Bird rights and can always do a sign and trade with some other brain dead sucker out there.

In fairness to Ron. I agree with Bricky. He didn't start this one, Yao did. Maybe we should buy Ron tickets to the Olympics. It will get him out of town, and maybe he can go cozy up to Yao.
