I think people may be forgetting to send the PMs on a timely basis. Maybe the commissioner might want to send one to the next person up if things start to lag?

pdxKingsfan is up now, right? I've been waiting patiently :p since I have the next TWO picks and then have to wait again forever...

If you're referring to me, then I'm not the commissioner of this draft, Kingzrool is. I know, too many drafts going on, it all gets confusing :p

You know, I've got my next 5000 picks lined up, they come to me muuuuuuch faster than the babes ones do. My usual thought process here is, is VF likely to pick either of these? lol
"Surrender" - Cheap Trick - (Heaven Tonight - 1978)
[yt=Cheap Trick - Surrender]pD8ymBR2Ufo[/yt]
http://youtube.com/watch?v=pD8ymBR2Ufo

There is so much awesomeness about this tune, I mean the dude's parents are getting high and rocking out to his KISS records. Man. I love this tune, even more than the other Cheap Trick tune that I'd be inclined to take with me.

Heheheh.

I really doubt if I have much to worry about with this pick, but it's a three-generation favorite in my family. So, to close out Round 5 I select:

Hero - Enrique Inglesias

Now for the one I actually think someone else might have on their list. To start Round 6, I select:

Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

[yt=Bohemian Rhapsody]irp8CNj9qBI[/yt]

I had several songs by Queen in mind, but watched "Wayne's World" over the weekend and decided this was the one I really had to make sure was on my island.

How weird is it that this album and your previous pick both have the same title - "Escape"?

"Anything, Anything" - Dramarama (Cinéma Vérité - 1985)
[yt=Dramarama - Anything, Anything]2MK-ibxlYKw[/yt]
So I've mentioned before that I'm pretty much sticking to stuff that I wouldn't pick an entire album of, but this is my first true one-hit wonder type of pick.

I don't really have anything to say about this other than I think its a super cool tune, always have. When I watch this video I always wonder how such an awesome tune could be sung by such a goofy looking bunch of guys with an even goofier name and then its no wonder why this is pretty much the only tune of theirs I really like.

Kingzrfool - Uh oh. You're on to my "theme." ;)

I was actually going that direction until I realized there were a few songs I had to have that didn't necessarily meet the criteria. Now my picks are really true to the concept of the thread. I do have a list of songs that I just couldn't stand not to ever hear again. They make me smile, they bring back good memories, or they just say something about life that I agree with.

I've sent pm's to the person before and after me until now , like I said in in Florida and it's hard to get on so if someone can pm my people until I get back ( 6 days ) then that'd be great

I figured as much, I will send PM's for you. Let me know when you are back. BTW, you are up. I will send the PM after you make your pick.

Thanx

Wasn't going to pick the tune obviously (although I have always liked it more than I should), but in a time of cookie cutters, that was always a great video lining up the Hollywood stars to play hottie + bad guy respectively. Funny how much presence an old burnout like Mickey Rourke can still have if you just don't let him say anything.

Pass the Mic - The Beastie Boys - Check Your Head

[yt=Pass the Mic]eMMBAXhnPCQ[/yt]

Not sure this is my most favorite Beastie song, but it's hecka up there and made my workout mixlist...It does have one of my most favorite rapper transition lines @ 2:57...not sure why I dig that, but I do....keemon an get sommmmmmmmmmmmme...

With my 6th pick, I believe it's time for a banger song. I listened to this song on a loop during my lunch break the first day of senior year in high school. I was having so much fun, that I almost missed the bell and came to my next class right as it started. The only seat left was in the middle of the front row for a trigonometry class. Unfortunately, those became our assigned seats, and they didn't change all year:mad::mad::mad:. With the 6th pick, I choose: One by Metallica (...And Justice for All)

Metallica - One

Great pick, Jespher...I was hoping that would slip but was pretty sure it wouldn't.

My next pick:

Rage Against The Machine - Sleep Now In The Fire

[yt=RATM - Sleep Now In The Fire]Jz8wU9DdbqU[/yt]

Again, lots of Rage songs I could have taken, but went with this one. No justification, just like it.

Damn the surrender pick! MY list was going to be low on punk as it is....now I'm kinda screwed.

So I just got done rewatching Easy Rider, so now I really just feel like picking some classic flower power song. Haha, maybe later. Sticking to my list for now.

Don't we wish they all could be...

[yt=..............]6LmxtcVklQc[/yt]

California Girls - The Beach Boys - Summer Days and Summer Nights

My silver trophy since bozz took Good Vibrations. Brian Wilson was a magician on the piano, and this is just further proof.

edit: Youtube video is a so-so live rendition of the song. If you haven't heard the classic recording, check that out.

Whoa whoa, I don't like this. These last few picks are treading on my territory. Sleep Now In The Fire is an interesting pick, I didn't think that would be the first Rage song taken, or the second or third even, but still a good song. And Warhawk, Bricklayer already stole Sweet Child O' Mine from me in an earlier round.

Yeah, whoops - missed that somehow. Mea Culpa.

OK, on to the next one then:

Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison

[yt=Folsom Prison Blues]N5Ts4M3irWM[/yt]

I'm suprised none of his songs have been chosen yet but I'm gonna go with...
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz

Ozzy's first solo hit single and arguabley his best. This song has one of the most well known riffs in all of music today.

Just a note: SacKings7 is going to be away until Fri/Sat of this week, so I wil be filling in for him I guess. I tried to warn him that commisioners aren't allowed to take vacations, but he seemed pretty adamant, so I guess we're just going to have to dismember him when he gets back.

In any case, he sent me his next pick along with the keys, and says if he is not back before he is up a second time, we should just skip over him until he returns.
