i guarantee you they liked the kings from 01-04.

this is ridiculous, MVP chants? what the hell happened to sacramento?
I personally know Laker Fans that have always been Laker fans and have continued that way. I was at many games during that time period and many people showed up in Laker jersey's.

It might blow your mind, but it's possible. This is just over-reaction. It stands out now, because the Kings aren't that good currently.

yes, but going to the line or a layup on practically every possession in the closing minutes? i can't remember the last time i saw so many free throws whistled for one player in such a short time
If You watched Mavs @ lakers last Sunday You would have seen the same or any other team playing lakers as of late. They have to win. NBA wants them to win.

my point is, why the hell are they laker fans. there is absolutely no reason.

Because they live here and like the Lakers and take the 2 opportunity's a year to go see their team. What is so hard to understand about this. Was there a ban on fans of the opposing team that I didn't hear about? *shakes head*

Muss junior at his best extending the lakers lead trough his idiocy and of course a time out with 20 seconds to go and being down 10 points. Moron

IT was a great effort in tanking though by reggie. Keeping Mikki in late in the 4th and drawing up plays that wouldn't work if the Kings were being defended by 7th graders.

I do have a love-hate thing with Kobe though. I love to see him do this to other teams (ESPECIALLY Dallas a few days ago, god, i can't believe i was rooting for the Lakers in a game.....i had to take 3 showers afterwards)

Anyway, I'm agreeing with Piksi here. The last NBA finals were some of the lowest rated in history. The NBA does indeed need the Lakers in the Finals. Theres no way around it. The need, or the fact that the Lakers will get to the Finals. They already have the talent through some nice help from the league, and the refs will take care of the rest.

looks like the kings were hanging on then bam, back to business for the 1st place lakers. im actually glad sacramento lost this game. maybe now some of us will have enough sense to not stir the pot. we're not better than they are and havent been for years. im sure this board was swarming with laker pals afterwards. i wonder if thats the reason this site was shut down for a while.. i would love to think kingsfans including myself know it all, but you know what..we dont. finish the season, shut our traps (let go of the beat L.A crap) be as humble as possible and pray we end the season with class and effort.

Observations

I would have posted this lat night but the forums crashed along with our hearts and souls, so here it is:

The reffing in the 4th was as bad as I have seen it all year. They simply weren't calling both ends the same way. Of course, its the Lakers, so its to be expected. Somebody already mentioned the Lakers had 18 FT attempts in the 4th and made 16 or so.

Another thing is, almost the whole game we were either running the offense through Brad, or letting John ISO. How come in the 4th quarter, Reggie insisted on pounding in to Artest? That pissed me off. Kevin couldn't get a call off ball all night, and I give credit to him for not flopping. Kobe was grabbing his jersey around half the screens, and on that pivotal play Fisher fouled him and no-call.

Season-ticket holders should be ashamed of themselves. Really. When Arco has as many Faker fans as Kings fans thats just bad. Me and this other guy were trying to drown out the MVP chants in our section literally by ourselves. Eventually I started pointing at them and yelling "BANDWAGON!" Its a real shame when Kings fans can't be bothered to go to a Kings-Lakers game anymore. Not one Kings fan was yelling MVP, I'll tell you that. If that puts that in perspective as to how many were there, than good.

I officially hate everything about Anthony Johnson.

He isn't even THAT bad, its just he doesn't accomplish anything at all. He doesn't do anything. And I'd like to see Cisco at back up point getting those 12 minutes.

Kevin didn't do that bad on Kobe. John really did a good job. But yet we let Ron guard him the entire 4th. And he would've done a decent job if it weren't for Kobe calls.

thats that. Although I can say at the start of the 4th I got that sense of tragic inevitability where no matter how good we play you know we are going to lose. Well we beat ourselves tonight, no denying that. The refs helped though, but what else is new?

oh my god just cause the kings aren't contenders then they shouldn't go to the kings/lakers game in arco??? Wow so maybe kings fans only support during contention years. And obviously there are laker fans in sacramento but they were barely any at the games 5-6 years ago

5-6 years Arco was sold out and we had a maxed out season ticket holder list. The only way a Lakers fan could get in was to scrounge after one of the few available tickets, or try to buy them off of a full time ticket holder who might be none too eager to sell them to a Lakers fan (or at least I wasn't).

Now the arena is only getting 12,000 (and that's announced -- often looks less) on many nights, and that means that before a game like this there are many many tickets to be had. No surprise that all of these people who suddenly remembered they are Lakers fans once they got good again should be as active in picking them up as Kings fans would be. Far more likely to be happy ending for them as well at the end of the night.

There have always been Laker fans at Arco since the beginning. The LA fans pay big bucks for the front row seats, and thats ALWAYS been the case. I'd say that there have always been a few hundred or so LA fans in attendence pretty much since Arco I. I've been to a few Laker/Kings games since the Kings got here in 85' and that's just what I've observed.

I think I am going to go be sick now

Few observations from last nights game.

1. I’ve been down on John a lot this year. Infact, I’m ready to trade the guy cause he just wont show up when he isn’t starting. But last night he reemerged from his slumber. He was awake and he played. I felt that he needed more time on the court. He was playing well and seemed to be alive, so why not give him more time?

2. Cisco. Why didn’t Francisco get more playing time. Instead of putting in Anthony in the game, we could have had Garcia in. Considering he made a three pointer and then he was substituted out. Why? The guy can guard and he can shoot. Put him on the court with Kevin and you have two slashers who know each other’s game and position.

3. Kobe did a nice job of taking Kevin out of the game with his defense or foul defense. But I also like to see Kevin change things up in the 4th quarter. He needs to take his game to the next level and not allow the defenders take control of him. I can’t always blame the defender. Kevin needs to have a different fire. Maybe next year that’s something that we’re going to see, a different Kevin in the 4th.

4. This is a classic game where Ron can either win the game or lose it. He was fine earlier in the game, playing within the game, giving us a lead but then he just, in the last 5 or so minutes decides to say “hey, we’re down by 1 or we’re going down and I need to be Kobe.” What was up with his fade-away jumper?

5. There was something that I loved about Rick Adelman. He let his guys play and decide the game without timing out so much. I guess with us suddenly playing one-on-one it’s nice to time out and settle down the guys, but that really didn’t work.

6. Brad is sometimes too unselfish. He had the shot, why pass it up to Mikki who can’t shoot 1 foot away from the basket?
