Suns @ Kings Game Thread

The Kings offense is not working right now. It needs to be completely redesigned. Look at what the Suns do, that's a smart offensive team. Every time down the floor Nash gets a pick which forces a defensive rotation, someone gets open, and he gets them the ball. Every time. Bibby needs a big man setting picks to be effective. He's at his best shooting that mid-range shot off of a screen or playing the pick and roll game. With Miller clearly struggling, he's on his own out there and he's forcing jumpshots instead because of it. The Suns are so good at running their offensive sets, that they're still able to take over the game even on an off night, which this clearly was for them. Then again, a lot of our offense in the first quarter (which is the only quarter we executed well offensively) was running plays for Kevin so it's not surprising how much we struggled when he had to leave the game. This is definately a more defense oriented team than we've seen here for a long time. But you can't win games without offense, no matter how well you defend. Especially not against high scoring teams like Phoenix. We'd be a playoff team in the Eastern conference though. Yipee.
At the end of the game I saw him hanging out on the perimeter. That's a problem. He's wasting his strength out there. When I say get Ron the ball more, I mean that he should get the ball with his back to the basket. Or at the least somewhere closer to the hoop than the three point line. He hit a couple open three-point shots tonight. That was a nice bonus, but it's not something we should be building the offense around. If he takes it strong to the hole it's almost an automatic foul and free throws. So they have to double him and that leaves someone open. That's what I keep hoping to see more of.
Oh, you'd be surprised. We led by 5 at the half time, we had a game going. Then Suns made adjustments and we didn't. Unless jacking up bad shots on an off night is an adjustment...

Didn't get to watch the game. Just looking at the stats, I guess this is when you could maybe single Bibby out. Not like last night's game (stats wise it didn't look like he was doing horribly out there). Tonight, 6/22? That's terrible no matter which way you slice it.

Bibby was actually 6-20 if you take away the two desperation threes at the end of the game. Not much better though. Kevin went up for a shot and sprained his ankle after he came down. It didn't look too bad, he didn't go down on the ground or anything, so hopefully he's back soon.
If you've got your pick of games, you can skip Magic-Cavs too. That game was really boring. Denver-New York got interesting right at the end. It looks like Chicago-Atlanta was the game to see though.

We had this game. The Suns were getting very tired, especially trying to keep up with Kevin. If he hadn't hurt his ankle, the Suns wouldn't have been able to keep up the pace. With him out, however, they were just able to outrun our Kings.
Arco was awesome. I haven't heard it like that in a very long time. Everyone came in, it seemed, with the idea of being good and loud to help boost the Kings. And...it almost worked.
We have some useless pieces on our team for the type of game we want to play. It was incredibly obvious last night. All things considered, however, I walked out of Arco glad I had been there and just hoping Kev would be okay.

I always enjoy going to games, especially when you are surrounded by people as passionate as you are.
