Stop discriminating against tall man!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of my favorites here. On December 7th 2001 Kings beat lakers 97-91 at ARCO to improve to 15-5 despite the fact that CWebb yet again didn't play in the game. It was a great game by the startres with some help of Hedo and Bobby. We couldn't stop Shaq but we were good enough to make it irrelevent. Pedja lead the Kings with 25/8/5, Bibby had 32/2/6, DC had 15/7/7, Vlade had 11/7/4 and Scot had 10/6/2st. Hedo had 10/7/1/2bl off the bench.
One of the officials was Dick Bavetta. Such a coincidence.

Meanwhile, the Kings were making their long-distance shots. Led by Stojakovic, Sacramento made 8-of-12 from the arc, including four in the early stages of the fourth quarter, when it opened a 14-point lead.

"We were impatient in the first few quarters, but once we started moving the ball around and rebounding in the fourth quarter, everything went smoothly," said Stojakovic, who had 15 points in the fourth quarter.

"I told the team I really think we could play better than that," Kings coach Rick Adelman said.

"I was the Sacramento Kings' best player in the first half because I couldn't make a shot," Fisher said. "If I could have made a couple of shots in the first half, I think we would have

"I thought Bibby was really a key tonight for their ballclub," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "He was the one who hit critical shots for them down the stretch."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kings are 8-9 after a tough 5 game stretch which we finished 1-4 only because we own the Clippers. We lost 4 straight games but we almost won two of them. Standingwise we are in 11th place on the right pace to the lottery. There is still plenty of time to get better or worse depending on the season goals and expectations. And believe me when I say - it could get much worse or even really ugly. At least the Shaqless Heat are coming in town at the good time for us to stop the bleading but then again those same Shaqless Heat beat us last season at ARCO. We have got to win this one.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
After fairly sleepless night - this won't get pretty

Let me start with the usual "Muss is Your favorite team's coach if ..."

-Your usual first comment after seeing the starting 5 - "What the hell ?"

-Your usual second comment contains words which don't belong here like ****** ******** ******* **** ****** ****** ( I actually just typed the starts to make a point)

-Your follow up comment after taking a look at the roster is " could have been worse because he still could have gone smaller"

-the players of Your team have same reactions as You do.

-Your team almost wins many game in the season.

-Your teams best player is rested during the game to shine in the garbage time

-You can read the news about Your coach in the local section of Your newspaper (not a sports section)

-You only can enjoy Your team's play on "yutube"

-after Your team has beaten an above .500 team You have to turn off Your play station and take a break.

I could do those all day but it stops being interesting and starts being painful after a while.

Bibby/Price/Martin/Salmons/Thomas - Is this really the best one can come up considering that he is a professional. And if it is the best - how would the worst look like ? What was he thinking ? That is simple. He was thinking something along this lines - "Man I left that bottle of Jagermeister at home. Maybe some of the players have some aftershave. That should do it." At this point, I would hire a "nanny" for Muss. He clearly can't be trusted to make decisions by himself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bibby played the entire garbage tome. What the hell was that all about ? Does Muss not know what Bibby looks like ? Did Bibby do something that requires a disiplinary action involving an art of humiliation ? Maybe Bibby is still to healthy. What is going on ? Are we going after Oden ? Someone just tell me because I have better things to do that watch us being happy about almost winning on a good night.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some things don't appear to be right in that locker room. Something must be going on there. The effort and the body language doring a game weren't really inspiring. The starting lineup must have been shocking for the players at least as it was for us here. I don't think that at this point Muss has any control in terms of being trusted by his own players. If we continue to almost win - we will find soon enough.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We still don't have any kind of rotation patterns. It is so briliantly confusing that even Muss has no clue what the hell he is doing. As a player - how can You find any rythm when You don't know when You will be playing and for how long. Generally any rotation involving Jason Hart playing main minutes is not a good one. Corliss gets more minutes at center than KT who started which is another joke by itself. . SAR who was actually able to produce plays lless than Brad who didn't do much except watch the layup festival from the VIP seats. Price starts but ends up playing less than Hart. Maybe Muss is "waiting for Godot". Someone should read him the play before it is too late.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Playoffs are a long shot at this point of the season but there is still time eventhough I wouldn't want to dig myself a huge hole in the Western Conference. I am wondering how long GP will wait before something happenes because something has to happen. We were in the worst position a year ago but we knew that something would happen and we know that RA is capable of keeping things together. Does anyone believe that Muss can do the same ? We have "flamable materials" on our ship. If things blow up here even Titanic won't look so bad anymore. Scary.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next 5 games involve home games against Heat and Hawks, trip across the bridge to face Warriors anf then gonig to Utah and that having the secong game of the "back to back" nights at home against of course - the Suns. 3-2 would be awsome and a 2-3 would be a minimum requierd. Anything else is certainly possible but would anyone dare to "put money" on a 4-1 or even 5-0 ? When will Ron play again ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So as everyone expected we were no match for the Suns who had an easy game with many dunks, layups and wide open shots. We had a bad start and then things got a little better before they got a lot worse. Everything has veen said about the lineup/rotation. Suns were better in every category except the FT%. They scored 127 points despite scoring only 21 in the 2nd quarter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM award went to P Burke:eek: who needed only 4 frigging minutes to score 9 pts and grab 2 rebounds.
LW-VC award goes to Muss who earned it even before the tip off.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heat are next and we could really use Ron to guard Wade. alonzo will dominate us inside. They have some rokkies/future TDM award winners. We will get to see JWill and also Walker/Payton/Posey who we don't like that much. When it is all said and done - we really, really need the win. Let's hope for a "decent" starting lineup this time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - come on man - we need You
Kevin - good luck with Wade
Ron - get healthy soon
Brad - let's see if he starts this time
SAR - who knows ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - maybe a good game, maybe not
Price - not ready to start
Corliss - will dominate inside:eek:
Salmons - how long can he sustain this level
rest - mateen
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss -

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, Heat are 7-10 and that won't change much untill Shaq is healthy. They are old and slow but they do have Wade which means 15+ FTA guaranteed. TDM award will go to Dorrel Wright. LW-VC award will hopefully not go to Muss because I can't take that crap anymore. Kings will stop the losing streak.

i was right on track with our 5 game road trip. with one minor adjustment. switch the 4 and the 1. we will lose tonight because musselman is a dummy. someone that has no idea who this team is. he is leading everyone in the wrong direction. these players are not being coached.

okay, i dont watch every kings game eventhough i have league pass... but is it just me or has the team not been able to close qtrs since rons been out?

in the last minute we always seem to give up a quick 5-6 points when its a 5 pt game... horrible.... hopefully artest will be back soon and martin gets his scoring back back up....

salmons has been great though....

This is one of those where having Ron could make all the difference. Actually the Atlanta game afterwards too. No Ron = these teams get to do what they want around their stars and its a tough game. With Ron = harass the hell out of their stars and potentially disrupt their entire team. Ron completely owned Joe Johnson in particular last year, but Wade's physical to the hoop game is tailor made for Ron to bother as well.

am i the only one who still think Musselman isn't the dumbest coach ever
and still trust him and the Kings ?
It seems that everyone don't think anyting good about the kings !

VF21 i hope you still believe !
Go KINGS . I have faith in you !

Musselman was nearly coach of the year not so long ago, he can't be that bad. Give him time

Didn't Doc Rivers win COY with the Magic, and then led them to one of the worst records soon after (they had something like a 19 game losing streak if I remember correctly, before he was fired mid season). Now there are calls to fire him from the Celtics job.

Not saying that Doc is bad (he might be. I don't know), or that Muss is a similar case. Just that some times these awards mean little. Jerry Sloan has never won COY. Given an option, would any GM in the league pick Doc over Sloan?

I believe that the biggest danger is Muss losing the team. Teams of the past few years had developed a habit of winning. In the current team, either guys are too young, or have often come from losing teams (Reef, Salmons, KT). Culture of winning has to be established and maintained. It is very difficult to break such a cycle if it sets in (look at the Knicks. For all the bad moves made by Isiah, that team is not as bad as their record indicates. One of the main problems is that none of their main guys have won much in their career).

I love this team. It's not going to stop because of a group of losses. If that were the case, I'd have given up years ago...

I am not happy with what I've seen from Musselman lately, but I'm not anywhere near as ready to throw himunder the bus as some people are...yet.

I'm just going to do what I did for years: Hope for the best but be prepared for less.

Call me crazy but I am actually excited for tonight's game.

Besides the fact that it's on national TV, the Heat aren't doing too hot early this season so maybe we can win this.

GO KINGS!!!!

I hope Ron's gonna play, though.

You're not crazy -- tonight's game is imminently doable wiht the Heat in their current state. But having Ron could be a massive key. If you have Ron, then he takes Wade, and on the other end Posey has to guard him. Frees up Kevin on both ends and gives the Heatr soemthing else to worry about. If you don't have Ron then Poseyt gets to try to strangle Kevin, and Kevin is in danger of foul trouble trying to check Wade as well. Makes a huge difference.

Another thing could make a big difference -- start Brad Miller! Enough small ball Muss. Really. If we start SAR then that plays right into the Heat's hands. SAR attacks Zo in the post, where Zo is strong, goes right at him, and may well end up getting his shot blocked repeatedly. It also allows Zo to lay back in the lane and intimidate everybody else driving to the lane too. Best hope there is just that Zo gets in foul trouble. But now you start Brad, and maybe you have one of those counterpuncher nights. He shoots jumpers, Zo doesn't want to cover that. And covering Brad outside the paint also opens up the rim to others driving.

Anyway, they are a 7-10 team and thus obviously imminently beatable. But what personnel we have/use could make a real difference in our chances.

I agree completely. The day Shareef plays more than 15 backup minutes at center should have ended the day Brad Miller came back.

Plus, Shareef can take it to Haslem as a power forward.

Musselman. Seriously. Shareef is not a center. Brad is. You shouldn't even have to think about it.

I still think Muss is doing the right thing given the situation.

I see what he's doing as intensive due diligence. Sometimes you have to look at options that might appear on the face to be dumb to know that they really don't work, or be surprised. The risk is losing the team's faith. Everyone needs to be patient.

The ultimate outcome of this process will be a set of optimized squads that will develop the team's depth. It's a playoff success strategy, but it doesn't win games like Adelman's approach does if you don't have the pieces down the bench. It's the easy nickel vs. hard dime problem. Ultimately you need to win regular season games and playoffs, but regular season wins do not predict playoff outcomes; running the wheels off of your stars all season is going to hurt when playoffs come.

I like where I see Muss going. It's a tough path but ultimately a winning one, given that he gets pieces and has the leadership abilities to keep the team behind him.

Kings need to win this one bad. A five game losing streak this early in the season would be a very bad way to start he year.

I don't care if Ron is playing tonight or not..Kings are due for a win..they can't play any worse..can they? The bad thing about tonight's game is that it's going to be on TNT and we have listen to Barkey's dribble and hear comment's like " the queens " " not going to make the playoff's" and stuff like that.

Brad should definitely get the start at C. Reef should come off the bench as a PF and tear Haslem up. He would do much better in a match up with him instead of Zo... so we should go that route so we get some points inside... If he's matched up with Zo that's gonna be a nightmare.
Still no word on Artest playing tonight?
