Do not know -- but a long record of out of control incidents and I seem to recall an admitted drinking problem back there at one point with him saying he was going to quit drinking (of course he says all kinds of things).
I don't think Ron Artest has a record outside of the Detroit Brawl.
His mouth and actions haven't always been, how shall we say, "professional" in the past. It's how he got a rep as being a loose cannon.
It's one of the reasons I fear for our season at this point. I want to erase the chalkboard for him and give him that "clean-slate", but I'm hesitant to do that.
I agree it is a stupid thing to do and definately a bad bad judgement on his part, but it is not something he should have to lose his job over.
Thank God he didn't injure or even worse kill somebody.
Here in Illinois first time offenders get a slap on the wrist. They get court supervision for one year if they plead guilty and if they behave for a year it doesn't go as a conviction on their record (and it stays of of public record as well).
He should use better judgement (or better yet not drink at all if he cannot make a right judgement when he does).

I was just thinking about it - there is a pretty good chance he might have been a super-beligerant jerk or been more over-the-top than they reported.

Typically, home-town cops let home-town sports figures slide because busting them looks bad for the team, the player and worst of all - the city. They'll punish them privately or give them harsh admonishments, but not artrest them. It's always bad ju-ju to have a home-town figure get arrested.

Hey I understand why he was out , New Head Coach, First Game at Home and Win too. Single Guy, Friday Night. I really hope this is not the norm for Muss, hoping it was just staff or friends taking him out on first Game night celebration. Im sure lots of people were slapping him on the Back buying him drinks.
But STILL!!! If he was out drinking from 11-2am after the Game, In a 3 hour period DUI charts indicate it would take 6 Drinks.

Hell Im a much bigger guy (in weight anyways ) and I know better to try driving after 1-2 Beers.
I hope that this is a one time stupid mistake, and Muss will hopefully learn his lesson bigtime and get a safe ride home next time.

I think if Ron had done this, it would have definitely been a big issue, which I think should be the case anyhow. Becasue you can forgive a person one or twice, but if he keeps on doing those kind of things, it shows that its some he isn't learning about his mistakes.

I've always thought that people were less forgiving toward bad behavior from sports players than others, including sports managers and owners. Maybe this is because players are "role models" for kids. Perhaps it's because players have a long history of irresponsible and dangerour behavior.
I expect that if Muss does a good job of publically asking for forgivness, he can keep his job. Who knows, maybe he can even become President of the U.S.?
Fire him for this if it is a first time offense? no way, now if this had been his third or fourth offense yes, but no way especially if he was barely over the legal limit. It was an honest mistake, a dumb mistake but an honest one and I think the Maloofs will punish him some way in terms of a fine or something. Muss will also do the stand up thing and come out and address it because that is the kind of guy he is.
