Napear on his show today (July 12) said...

He expects the Bonzi situation to be setteled one way or the other in the next 24 to 48 hours.

I can't handle this for another 24-48 hours. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and actually went to the computer to see what went down and then was way to obsessed at work today. Sign him or trade him for Paul Shirley for all I care anymore, just end the madness :p

Napear isn't that bad. Just his whole calling people morons all the time than trying to put them down by making a stupid joke about them. Yeh, he's not that bad.

Man that sounds like me during the Chris Webber free agent off-season. It drove me mental every day that went by without resolution. iirc we traded him for Jermaine Oneal right?

Anyway I learned my lesson... I am more LOOSELY attached to the whole thing this time around. Have to be, or it will make you insane.

I beg to differ.

He IS that bad. He's always puffing and acting as though he and he alone has the inside track - when often there's not even a train.

He could have been honest and said that, as usual, Petrie is playing everything very close to the vest and that he, Grant, will try to bring any news to his listeners just as soon as he, Grant, learns what he, Petrie, is going to do...but that no one should hold their breath.

I am so glad I don't get KHTK. It's probably saved me numerous nervous breakdowns and possibly even incarceration for threatening phone calls.

:p

How do you know Gary was joking? He's defended Napear before...

As far as people telling Grant things, that's not my point. My point was that Grant is acting as though he HAS heard things when he hasn't. And it's not the first time.

:)

^^^^ Well Spoken......this pretty much sums up reasons 1-56832 why I hate Napear.

I dont care if the trade comes out 24-48hrs later, its the fact that I wasted at least 1 hour just looking for any updates at work today because of the anticipation he built up.

I guess its half my fault to listen to him but I just get so worked up when it comes to The Kings.

PS Is the TDOS over yet

Grant Napear the biggest homer in the NBA?
Not by a long shot. I honestly don't even think he particularly cares about the game of basketball.

There are broadcasters who live and breathe their team. The guy from Boston - whose name I can never remember - is one. Jerry Reynolds is a homer - and has forgotten more about basketball and the Kings than Grant Napear could ever imagine.

PS Is the TDOS over yet
You know, I really hate to be the one to break this to you...

so I won't.

Just go take a nice LONG nap and we'll wake you if anything happens.

I was joking.. I forgot the "roll eyes" lol.

Napear always comes up with the lamest jokes when he tried to put someone down.

Grant: "cya moron!!! You need to take the $.99 cents your...your....your life is worth and call.....you need to take that money to the dollar store and buy a clue.....oh man that guy was a moron, he makes Stanley look like a genius."

Tommy Heinsohn. I thought you were a Celts fan before the Kings came to town??? I mean he's only a hall of famer and former coach of the team. :)
Maybe, but when I had NBA League Pass, he was hands down the worst homer announcer I heard. And I was honestly shocked at how many I thought were generally much worse PBP guys than Grant. Grant is pretty good at PBP. Too bombastic and full of himself as a talk show host....but that is what gets listeners. I'm sure the station loves it.

I have to go to an all day meeting tomorrow and will be totally out of contact. So something big will probably happen with the Kings tomorrow. ;)

Tommy Heinsohn would be awesome if he was your own announcer, but this guy is such a homer that it gets really really annoying. Pierce could clothesline a guy and he'd call it ticky tack.

Oh no, I can barely tolerate (ok really can't) the brainless homerism of our own announcers, let alone if we had a complete tool like Heinsohn. He doesn't even see the game the way it actually unfolds. His glasses are shaded so darkly he is effectively blind, which makes him completely worthless as an announcer.
