Scoreboard Watch/Playoff Standings Watch 2025 Edition

Not many games today, but some are interesting for us.

GSW @ ORL. Magic have a nice 18-12 home record. They allow league's best 105.5 points per game. Warriors with Butler became a different type of animal, yet still pretty short contrary to their today's opponent. I will welcome L#28 for the GSW.

MIN @ LAL. Wolves have 10+ very nice wins this season. Comebacks, hard fought games against good teams. Still, facing of against new NBA darlings in LA is not something to look forward for any team. L#28 maybe? Though, as I said, Wolves can do unexpected stuff anytime anywhere.

NOP @ PHX. Pels won 2 in a row and Zion will play today. Cj too. Meanwhile Suns, after their 8-1 start, now are 27-31 and play like they are on life support. 70+ points from Zion and Cj maybe? Just to put more distance between #11 team in the against any team that is #10? Would be OK :)

Anyway. I looked for couple hours at the schedules, records and what's not of in the West. For Kings, GSW, Wolves, Dallas, Clippers and Rockets. If we will not improve our game (always winning the battle of turnovers and starters on the floor together...), that will result for Kings ending up 7-10 after 82 games. On the other hand, with the pure value of the talent of the team, Kings should get to #6. 24 games left and the next 7? are the toughest ones.
Yeah, would be nice to go to the play-offs with the confidence. Only to face the Lakers??? Oh boy :)

Charlotte also takes on Dallas, but they clearly have no serious chance of winning these days. Maybe Lamelo and Bridges go off. They do beat decent teams sometimes lol.

Steph with a buzzer beater three to put the Warriors up by five with a minute and a half left. Draymond immediately fouls Franz on a three point attempt. Franz bricks the first.

The new version of the Lakers, I’m actually more confident in us taking on. Our bigs in particular, will destroy theirs.
True. Our Lithuanian Cs will destroy whatever LAL have in the paint. In 20 minutes of the time allotted for them to be legally on the floor. The rest 28 minutes of the game, Domas and JV will drink beer or vine on the bench while observing Luka, LBJ, Reeves and the rest practicing free throws in real game situation non-stop. 10-15 FTAs per quarter for the LAL seems about right.

Draymond levels Isaac on a rebound attempt. No call. Looks like the Warriors are winning this one.
Yeah, Adam ordered Warriors to be served in the play-offs, without risking play-in.

Yeah, I watched the second half. Officiating definitely favored the Warriors.
Just checked Warriors schedule. 23 games left. 11 against teams with winning record. Out of the 11 games against the teams with winning record - only 3 on the road. I guess it's pointless to look at other teams now. LAL might end up with the 2nd best record in the West, while Warriors will be in the top 6. Only one solution - we need to go streaking :) In the positive way ;)

Yeah, looks like the Warriors will certainly finish above us sadly. The hope is Dallas and LAC drop imo.

Though Rockets are 37-22 now, they are 5-8 in their last 13 too. They have plenty of their remaining games are against really good teams. Sure, probability of us catching them is slim, but not unreal. Needless to say, March 1st game between us in Houston is HUGE. First of all, because I want to see if current Kings can play good game against good, motivated team. Even better - if Kings play well, can they pull a W? Then - who knows???

Rockets play us, then:

@ OKC
@ IND
@ NOP

......, whatever, last 9 games:

@ UTA
@ PHX
@ LAL (b2b)
vs UTA
vs OKC
@ GSW
@ LAC
@ LAL
vs DEN

Sooooo, Rockets play us next, then, in their last 22 games of the season they play best team in the West Thunder twice (road and home), play Nuggets twice (both home games) and play Lakers twice too, both games in LA.

NBA season is funny. I see nothing funny in the last 9 games of the Rockets season.
Lithuanian Donatas Motiejūnas played for the Rockets. I still have an account on their Clutchfans? message board. I lurked a bit on their board recently. At first I was reading how Sengun is much better than Domas. Then Rockets lost 6 games in a row. Happens. One more thing happened - Rockets fans, old timers and just overall guys with some sense - began panicking a bit. The feeling was and still is that Rockets somehow lost ability to win games. Like something broke. Then Foxexit happened and things got really interesting. Needless to say, Kings are 17-10 under Christie. Kings have killer reserves. Kings starters begin games with more turnovers than points and zero rebounds with zero assists (not true, but close ;) ). Since I'm a naturally born optimist, the though that current Kings actually could be decent is not dead in my head yet.

12-9, 18-19, 21-12, 14-10, 11-8, 20-11, 18-16, 10-13, 17-8, 10-8. First number is Kings turnovers, second number - other team's. 10 (6-4) games without Fox. 9 last games with LaVine. Kings had less turnovers only twice: 18-19 in 130-88 W against Hornets and 10-13 102-108 L (we almost had them) against the Portland on the road. Nothing to add. Except - the easiest thing to fix for a good team are turnovers. Slow down, think and watch before do.

Our next 7 games probably will define what is next for us. 5 games on the road against Houston, Dallas, Denver, Clippers and Warriors. Yikes. Reffing will be "special". Home game against Spurs (can't wait ;) ) and Knicks...

Lakers shot 46 free throws yesterday, Warriors - 42. NBA players and coaches and staff know exactly what is going on. And why.
When player goes to the free throw line, his team gets a breather. Geriatric LBJ, fatarse Luka, grandfather psycho Draymond. Even for Steph a breather is useful. It's physically tasking for the body to launch 19 3 pointers. Another moment- to break down one team mentally. On D they can't even breathe, on O - they are hacked, whacked and what's not.
LBJ can play into his 50's. Maybe some of his grand kids will be OK. 10+ free throws per quarter, timeouts and some other garbage. LBJ doesn't need to dribble even. He can walk around the court with the ball in his hands.

Now that the W’s have Jimmy Butler, the NBA will do whatever it takes to ensure they can market them for the postseason. They’ll try to make sure they’re top 6.
