Amick: De’Aaron Fox requests trade

Hahaha man, I love those TDOS desert island drafts! Miss 'em, honestly. But I am resolutely not the guy who's in-it-to-win-it. I regularly picked sh*t that would be considered "bad value" if you treat such a thing with competitive seriousness. I just like to share the stuff I like, and I enjoy engaging with the stuff that everybody else likes. And maybe get into an argument or two about the stuff we all like or don't like.

But the modern internet is just a dispiriting reality for me. Like many in my general age bracket, I was an overly optimistic college student as Myspace gave way to Facebook and YouTube, and as Web 2.0 really began to take shape, I naively imagined that it was going to shepherd forth a new era of information democracy, and that a kinder, more connected, more empathetic, more informed society would result from all of the "sharing" we were doing back then and beyond. I'm not sure I've ever been more wrong about anything in my life. The exact opposite happened. We became more insular, more alienated, meaner, colder, less connected, less empathetic, and somehow less informed despite all of the information we were ingesting on a daily basis. Our attention spans got shredded and the deep focus and critical thinking of many were also forfeit in the process. I noticed it in myself, and it made sense to me to retreat from it when I did.

These days I maintain a small handful of places online that I visit regularly... and that's kinda it. The internet for me is not the vast realm of possibility that it is for many. It's more like a few cozy, dimly lit rooms I enjoy wandering into every now and then because there are familiar faces for me to see that have gotten a bit older and wiser since we last spoke. KF.com is one of those places. It's the best of places online, as far as I'm concerned.
Just letting you know - you are not alone in your thinking. I got no time for bots. And I have realized that disassociating is a survival skill - and there is no group to hone that skill with better than Kings fans.

I'm not sure I agree but ESPN had him 19 and Fox 25 to start the season. Ringer had Fox 19 and Maxey 30 last I checked.

I think the issue with Fox is he takes quarters and sometimes entire nights off whereas I don't watch enough 6ers games to offer an opinion on whether Maxey does.
Times I’ve watched Maxey he’s bringing it and Philly fans don’t question his want or heart

Exactly and so in line with the Kings needing now it's hilarious. Monte literally gave it 3 goes around Fox. The Kings were turning it around with Christie to start and Fox? "I don't want to leave, but I ain't staying." Now we see what Monte is made of. Maybe, just maybe he was always drafting to replace Fox just in case? Good thing he did, the Kings have a lot of upside now when Fox is gone. I guess we see if Monte blows it or not. Getting a 1A package for Fox isn't the bar now. Just get picks and build.
I firmly believe that McNair has been thinking for at least a year now that Fox would leave and the next stage of development for the Kings would occur because of the jettisoning of Fox. What other ammo for a big deal has he had????? NONE. A first round draft pick? Heurter? The only bazooka he had was Fox. Now he's at his moment of truth. He's literally had years to think about this moment and plan for a zillion scenarios to supercharge this team into the future. So now let's see what he does.

Why even bother throwing something together involving the Lakers?
WHY, TETSU, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY???!!!!
Because they aren’t a Deebo away from being a contender but at least he gets to be on a tirefire in his hometown to end his career lol

Their 29 pick has to be juicy?

I think with Fox out the door Vando or Rui probably doesn't help us but that pick could. Maybe you flip those guys?
vando’s legs are probably cooked but he’s a lotto ticket swing because if he gets back to what he was before his legs turned to jelly, he’s another really good defender to stick around Domas and Monk. Rui also gives us a solid scorer in the frontcourt though we could absolutely swing him for more assets.

Rui does seem a bit intriguing, I will admit.
Both those guys were on my wishlist 2-3 seasons ago. Vando hurt too much, maybe after two surgeries he can offer something. Rui is just a guy who will frustrate you with "he should be better" either would take a load off our bigs though. But no sense if Fox ain't around. But that pick. How bad are the Lakers going to be once Bron and AD are gone and they have nothing to reload with?!?

KC: if we switch out Fox with Maxey, are we better?

Their conversation today has been Fox isn’t that franchise guy. KC saying Maxey is cause he’s out there leading a bare bones 76ers squad and getting wins.
Yes. I see Maxey as a more consistent higher level competitor. He also seems to win the in game matchup most of the time between him and Fox

Rui is pretty much Japanese Rudy Gay. Prototypical size, strength, and athleticism but just for whatever reason doesn’t have the spark in him to put it all together and turn into a star lol

Now we would be frontcourt heavy and in need of guard depth but I like where your head is at.
Would we? If this is paired with getting Castle back for Fox, we’ve still got Monk/Keon/Castle/Carter all jockeying for minutes in the backcourt. It would also let us just go BPA with the hawks pick if VJ Edgecombe fell to their pick or whoever

My how far Fox has fallen in the eyes of kings fans. Talking about trading him to the lakers?
What happened to keeping really good players out of our conference and not making our rivals better?

whoah whoa whoa nobody is doing that.

That was DeMar if he demands out because Fox goes.

Honestly hope DeMar at least gives us a playoff push and is our clutch master now that Mr. Klutch is out the door.
