Was others not available to pitch? I know Doval wasn’t but I think you could see that the Mets were on Rogers and I agree that strikeout guy would have been better. What a waste of a Webb outing.

If the Giants ever get Snell figured out and a healthy Ray back around July, I think this team can push for a playoff spot. The kids have totally reenergized the season.

What a good win for SF. Can Wisely keep this up? I’m confidant Snell will get there. Alec Bohm had a rough, rough day at 3b.
I did not have Wisely learning how to hit on my year’s bingo card, that’s for sure. I had faith in a lot of the other young guys, but he wasn’t even on my radar after his showing last season.

Sounds like the decisions being made with hitters has been working. On the telecast, they mentioned Pat Burrell as working on the mental side of hitting while, the other hitting coach who I don’t know, is working on mechanics.

Wonder who the team calls up to replace Wade….there are a couple of Left handed hitting options that play 1b to pair with Wilmer or they just stay with Wilmer and add a utility guy like Fitzgerald or Sabol or…….

Wade out is a huge blow. Dude has been our best hitter this year by a long shot.

Giants call up Fitzgerald, Spencer Howard and Trenton Brooks
You know Fitzgerald
Spencer Howard was a one time high Phillies prospect IIRC but never met those expectations and flamed out with Texas…..one of those Zaidi specials

Trenton Brooks, I looked his career up. Making his debut. 28 years old. Spent majority of time in Cleveland org before a short stay with Oak. In the last few years his minor league numbers have taken off, adding some more power to what looks like a doubles hitting firstbaseman. This is a classic Zaidi pickup. Lots of these guys he’s picked up haven’t panned out BUT Yaz and Wade have turned out well and maybe Wisely can sustain solid production so here’s hoping Brooks runs with this opportunity

Soto and Judge back to back is quite the pairing in the lineup.
Wade being injured and the cooling down of Matos has stalled out the offense.
It would be helpful if Wilmer and Soler could heat up. Soler looks close, Wilmer just doesn’t look comfortable. I’d keep Brooks in the lineup as he looks ready to hit and able to draw a walk

Sigh

And here it looked like BBlake Shell would make it out of the 5th inning for the first time this season.

…and there goes the lead.

Damn. All my years watching baseball I always thought infield fly rule was meant to protect the base runners.

Not relieve the infield from catching a simple pop up.

Schmitt should be on first and bases juiced. What’s the rationale behind rewarding what is essentially a defensive error or potentially an attempt to cheat with an out?
