Kings first round of coaching candidate interviews comes out

The guy he is competing against has a major media presence along with one of the top two NBA social media guys tilting the scale in his favor despite the fans largely disapproving I don't really see this as cynically as you do, which is pretty bizarre considering how cynical I am about life in general.
I know Vivek doesn't have the best reputation, but if he cares about what fans think or what social media guys think, he shouldn't be making the pick. Ditto for Monte. What they should care about is whether they want to pick a dude, who wants to be the main decision maker, tried to demand that, but somehow is backtracking before he even got an offer.

And, to be honest, I really don't care whether it's Brown or Jackson. Though I do think Jackson probably has a better chance of winning in Sac than Brown simply because he's going to either burn the entire thing down or they're going to rise after he trades half the team.

I'm talking about Shams who has been pushing a Mark Jackson is the choice narrative for weeks.

Shams is irrelevant. I haven't read any Jackson related propaganda from Shams. None.

I want Jackson because of the reasons I stated above and if the Kings are going to suck, might as well make it fun by blaming demons, holy water, and reading about how Jackson and Fox are fighting. Because I guarantee you, Jackson is going to light a fire under Fox. He either rises or drowns under that type of pressure.

Edit: to be clear, regarding Shams, I'm not saying he is not pushing Jackson. I'm saying I haven't, personally, consumed any of his propaganda.

Shams has been saying it's Jacksons job to lose for weeks. The guy has a pulpit on ESPN as well.

You then get indignant because Brown's agent dared lobby for the job to the Bee.

They beat team USA the week before it started and were generally impressive in all the tune up games. Also he made a guy on our roster look like a star.

He's definitely not my first or second or third choice even of the initial ~7 names we were given but between him and Jackson this is an easy pick to me.
That makes sense he won a preseason/summer league game at the international level which meant nothing but when it came to games mattering for something he lost all of them, seems like a guy who would serve the Kings well in particular when the Kings make their late season push to lose out on a top 3 pick.

I'm pretty sure IIRC that the Nigerian team was by far the most impressive story of basketball Olympics and how they played. Obviously, they have none chance to compete with the US or the other powerhouse countries, but this was their "eye-opener" where that program could maybe develop. Brown was a huge part of that.
That's been the case with literally every single Nigerian basketball team and they never had 8 NBA guys (9 basically) on the roster and still didn't win a game.....when it mattered they lose easily again......If you can't compete/beat the average to above average teams with that many NBA guys and being maybe the most/2nd most athletic team in the comp that's nothing to brag about.

See my edit above.
You say you aren't consuming the pro-Jackson propaganda, yet you seem swayed by the "Brown is demanding" propaganda likely leaked by a pro Jackson camp. His "demands" amount to: standard contract length (4 year guarantee, what all the other failed coaches got; what any successful coach would ask); ability to pick his assistants; and commitment to win/spend on players - I read this as he wants confirmation that the Kings don't plan on doing a tank during his tenure. None of this is outlandish, and yet it was presented as "OMG", that you claim not to be influenced it but are now calling him a back tracker just for saying he really wants the job shows that the pro-Jackson forces are working exactly as intended.

No African Nations team has ever beat the USA EVER. Ever ever. Never.

But meaningless because he had 9 players with NBA experience who are certainly all stars to dominate the lowly USA.

gimme a break.

It's a preseason game the Portland Trailblazers in a regular season game with a G-League squad beat some proper NBA teams.......I guess Terry Stotts should be a legend than.

That's because one candidate is actively playing games. The other has been consistent in his desire for the job. If I'm deciding, I know who I'm picking.

Did you happen to read the circumstances that surrounded that team?

Because they fact they weren't blown out by 50 each game is amazing.
