[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

Here’s the original article. Lots of stuff confirming what we kinda already knew. Starts at the top.
did someone just leave the org and decide to spill some tea on the way out? Nothing particularly groundbreaking but I guess there’s always room for another “Vivek bad” piece

The only really new thing in there I hadn’t seen before is that Vivek called Sam Presti to talk about a trade that the Kings were considering, which is completely insane both as a competitive decision and in terms of undermining faith in the FO

Also something already reported but good to see again:

One of the team’s minority owners said he believes McNair is calling the shots without interference.

“I’ve looked people in the eye and said, ‘We know this has been a problem. Is it a problem today?’ They’re telling me it’s not,” he said. “Does Vivek have the right to approve trades or give his input? Yeah, but I don’t believe Vivek is micromanaging Monte. I believe Monte is in charge and has total control.”

If anything, this article was mostly “Man, those Vlade years were chaotic!” With a small, mostly swept under-the-rug bit of “but it looks like Vivek’s letting Monte work thus far”

There’s really nothing that we didn’t already know/couldn’t have inferred from the past eight years.

Simply switching the team name and the number would make a huge difference. Better number font. Traditional stripes down the sides instead of the weird one armhole circle thing and stripe on the opposite short leg. The entire design is why it’s a trainwreck not the colors!

Of course I’m also a huge sucker for any shiny style jerseys and I’m probably the only person on the planet that unironically loved the Mavs one-off silver jersey. Lol

The Kings haven't had a second rounder of note since IT (Petrie). And no undrafted free agent of note since probably Mo Evans (Petrie). McNair has followed this pattern of sucking as a creative talent acquirer by blowing three second round draft picks and finding zero undrafted gems during his tenure.

Here's one small market FO, the best in the league IMO, who actually thrives at finding talent:

If we want to hold the "drafted/undrafted" label, then sure, but at least he's taking swings at the 2nd round. Unlike Vlade who didn't even try. Also, Queta isn't a loss yet after just 1 season.

Also, I'd count Jones/Metu and Lyles as upside swing wins. Pieces he picked up for nothing that are showing out to be rotation players. All 3 a clear win. And assuming DDV is resigned, getting a starter/25-27 MPG core rotation player for nothing is another clear youth win he bought extremely low on.
