souring a bit on Sengun after watching the Greece Turkey game. I’m guessing the 4 options might be Jalen Johnson, Josh Giddey, Franz Wagner, Moses Moody..... with some small chance Kuminga falls.
The biggest thing that scares me the most about Sengun is his size. In a recent podcast one of them said they asked Mike Schmitz if Sengun was 6'10 or bigger. Schmitz (who is 6'7) said he was no bigger than 6'9. That scares me a bit if he is supposed to play center.

A combo G that can run point and probably one that would have to try and fill the hole in the wing in the interim. I also don't see him as a long term piece necessarily. He's got one year left, if they did draft a backup PG that role can easily transition to pick in time.

He (Delon Wright) is also one of our best defenders at any position. And so was Richaun Holmes last year. Which is why I don't think either guy is expendable. We need to add players who are plus defenders and keep the few we already have. Wright could easily play either guard position which gives us some flexibility in acquiring either a backup PG or SG. If we're going to sneak into the playoffs next season I think he'll be an important part of the rotation.

that would fit with the Kings short term time frame which makes no sense but comes directly from Vivek. I think Vivek’s sole concern is to not own the record outright.
Also, if the Kings take Kispert, I'm seriously going to root for the Warriors until Vivek, Matina, and McNair are gone.
That said, McNair, from what we've seen, has kept a really tight ship. No leaks on Hali, the Wright trade, the Bogi RFA/trade/no trade, the Barnes rumors...so color me skeptical.

If we’re going to draft him I’d be fine with the pick as long as we move down and pick up some assets along the way. Dude is not worthy of a top 10 pick in this draft there are so many guys between that 9-14 range that I can see ending up as better players than Kispert I just don’t see the point in taking him that high if that’s the plan

But the news runs counter to what the Kings have shown under McNair: No leaks and, now, no reporting of who they've brought in for workouts. Smokescreen.
I may need to watch more Texas games. He's not a guy I have very highly rated. He seems like a tweener with a long way to go to carve out and NBA role.

Kispert doesn't seem like a McNair pick to me. Most of the wings he's taken fliers on so far have been long, athletic, and flashed some two way potential. I'm not even convinced that Kispert will be better than Wieskamp who many mocks have going in the 50's or even undrafted.
But if they do go that route I think I'll also be taking a break from the Kings. I haven't lived in California for two years now and it's already a minor hassle to watch Kings games in Denver. The Nuggets are fun, but I think if I need a protest team to follow until (if?) the Kings ever build a successful team again I think I'd go with the Thunder.
Honestly, I can't even guess at how many times I've said I was going to stop following this team if they didn't stop screwing up and I'm still here, hoping that THIS front office and THIS draft will finally turn things around.

hey the same guy who thinks the Kings will take Kispert (and he agrees with the pick) also thinks your man crush Bouknight is the most dynamic player outside the top 3.

I watched Kispert a lot in college because I’m a Saint Mary’s fan. I don’t want the Kings to pick him. But he’s no bum. He’s a strong dude (which is way underrated in evaluations), knows where to be, moves all over the place, and can hit contested shots. And he competes every night. I have a feeling he’ll have a better career than many drafted in front of him. I prefer Wagner, Moody, Bouknight, and maybe Jalen Johnson and Sengun over him.

Yea, I take some comfort in McNair running a really tight ship.
As for other teams, I really like the players on that OKC team. Plus they have Presti, so you'd be rooting for a legit winner in the next 3 to 5 years.

I watched a lot of Gonzaga games as well. Gonzaga used their press to run over most WCC teams early in the year. Later on, the games were a little tighter once teams adjusted to their pressure. Kispert is a solid player, but I don't rate him higher than someone like Jason Kapono, who was a second rounder and carved out a 7 or so year NBA career. He's strong and tested better at the combine than most assumed, but his weaknesses were exposed in the tourney--couldn't get his shot off against average level NBA athletes and was attacked mercilessly off the dribble. He's going to have to cut muscle to stick in the league. Sacrifice strength for quickness.
I'll start worrying about Kispert when Amick or Carmichael Dave start saying they're hearing he's the dude. Not so much Ham or Jones, because they've gotten fed bs so many times throughout the years. And certainly not someone named Reese Holliday.
Anytime anyone says they’re “hearing things” I assume they have an inside source maybe not a insider to the extent Woj is obviously but being connected to ppl within the organization can be considered an insider if you ask me.
Well, I'm not sure how up on things this guy is - neither he nor Deuce nor Mo seemed to realize that Marcus Bagley withdrew from the draft the day before they recorded this. He may be "hearing things" but it's not clear he's hearing things from inside the Kings.
I watched the vid from 45m on. Give him props for being willing to take a position on players. My thoughts: he loves Bouknight (that's a plus; I really think Bouknight may go top 5). Also loves Jalen Johnson (my thoughts: it's legal in CA. LOLZZZ. If Bouknight and Barnes are not there, the Kings should take him). Not high on Barnes, which is a damn headscratcher. Hes not really high on Moody or Wagner (I understand why). Sees Kispert as a high level role player (sure at 18; no at 9).

Actually he withdrew yesterday didn’t he? Maybe memory is serving me incorrectly but I think the interview with him was pre recorded so it’s likely Marcus had not withdrawn his name yet at that point

He might be a part of it, but this is all based around the idea of adding a PG/SG in the draft, so how that would effect said picks role is the issue. How expendable or not someone is when they are experienced role players, as they both are, is all relative to the competitiveness of your team and it's current needs. Yeah, if he proves out to be someone that can be a legit backup based on how the team is built going forward then fine. If the team still struggles and they drafted a PG then you go with the youth at that point and salvage whatever value you lost in the short term.
