Maybe a 50 point loss will wake up this team, and by team I mean coaching staff and management - to focus on defense and do things like play Whiteside (more than just this game).
It actually looked like we did know how to defend the three for about two weeks at the start of the season. We've since tumbled back to the bottom in Defense Rating. Fox and Hield look frustrated every minute they're on the floor. Portland is using screens to force a switch (actually that's being generous, it's more like they're politely requesting a switch and we're obliging) and then taking the mismatch one-on-one and we have no answer for it.
It's embarrassing to watch the team play like this. We match up well with Portland in talent but other teams have figured us out on offense and defense and we're not adjusting. Maybe someone should tell Luke Walton that you are allowed to watch tape of your opponent before the games as well.
Yeah I know some had suggested it was a smoke and mirrors gimmick defense and maybe it was but holy hell, how can we go from smoke and mirrors to just letting the other team do whatever they choose. This is pretty clear case of team quitting to me. And agree, embarrassing.
not watching the game, but when he was in the game the Kings outscored the Blazers by 3. That means that even if he is having a horror of a game, the 25 point hole was built with him on the bench.
