We have no indication whether he offered a contract or not. My assumption is Giles left because he felt slighted by the organization and wanted to bet on himself with a new team. That's far more likely than assuming we didn't offer more than the min for Giles.
You are right, we don’t know. But in all of the pieces I’ve read from Jones and Amick in the athletic, or Anderson with the Bee, or anywhere for that matter was there ever even a peep that an offer was made by the Kings. Generally that stuff comes out

Kings down a “manageable” deficit is the new “Kings should probably feel fortunate they are only losing by X amount of points”

“Respectable” is the new “Gallant effort”

Interesting seeing Buddy play the SF some, wonder what new things we'll see this year.
Well we're going to apparently see the 2 PG lineup of Fox and Cojo, lol. Against a team with small SG's like this it can work but again, while a 1 big unit is the key with Barnes at PF, Fox and Cojo won't work as well as MANY other options he has at his disposal. Even when he gets it right, it's never a bullseye.

That answers the question (that doesn't appear to have been asked) of why Giles wouldn't hold a grudge against the Kings. But why would he want to go back?
It does answer the question or why he’d go back. Why wouldn’t he? The GM that declined his option is gone. The teammates that he still loves playing with are still here. The coach they gave him some good run last year is still here. There is ample opportunity to get more playing time and shine here than Portland.

Common sense is literally smacking Luke right in his forehead. Gee, Barnes at PF and you don't suck? C'mon Monte, you're the stats guy, look at those 5 man stats pal.
Not only that but all of Gentry’s five out stuff looked really effective only for Luke to keep having his bigs set up at the elbows like we’re the 1995 Magic or something.

I don't think that any of that has as much appeal to the average NBA player as many Kings fans appear to think it does.

Gotta say, I'm liking the defense and rebounding tonight. This has been the exception rather than the rule for much of the last 20 years, but the effort has been there tonight.
The defense has been atrocious in terms of rotation and usage but I see a semblance of hope. Between Barnes, Buddy, Fox, Tyrese, Cojo, Holmes, Robinson, and DaQuan the tools are there on the wing. Individually I think this is a capable team. Especially with Tyrese, Cojo, Barnes and DaQuan so far.
