Just got back from the game....2 games in a row for me that the games have gone down to the wire....Pacers and Grizz!

Rough first half
Unbelievable last 15 minutes
Winning > Losing
Same here! First half was very rough, but man it got exciting at the end! Fun game to be at. My wife surprised me with tickets when I got home from work!

Saw the game live - thievery at its best. Kings led all of a minute or 2 the whole game. Defense was a no-show for over half the game. Luckily the Grizzlies defense softened up towards the end and the Kings finally started attacking the rim more. The story the of the game - the Kings winning despite an awful shooting percentage with some decent defense for a change and FTs made rom Stein. A sort of blue-collar 3 point play dunk (with Bejelica missing the FT if I remember right) drew the largest reaction from the crowd. Sneak out the win and don't look back.

Watching these last few games, especially tonight and I’m struck by how much we miss Marvin. He has been such a consistent force off the bench. The rotations seem all out of whack without him.
Yes but whats more evident is without Bogdan, Shumpert, and Bagley - the Kings would be in 3-ft of fertilizer. ala the Thunder debacle.

Sign this dude up tomorrow. I don't think I've ever done a 180 quicker on a player than I have on Shumpert this season. I wasn't following basketball back in 98' when Vlade came aboard (too young), but I imagine Shumpert is playing the "Vlade" role pretty close to perfection right now for these young guys as Vlade did for the young stud Kings back in the day. It's obvious the young guys are taking their cues from him off the court and he's fully embraced his role as the veteran mentor/leader on and off the court. He's bringing a swagger and a "don't quit" attitude to this team that we just haven't had in our 12 year playoff drought.

Weird as it sounds, I think I'd add Shump to the core of Fox, Buddy,Bogdan,Bagley,Giles or otherwise named the "don't trades". He's basically made himself indispensable for the young guys to keep developing as pros.

Agreed.

Gotta give a large amount of credit to Shumpert for coming to Sacramento with a great attitude. It could have been so easy to come in here, to a bad franchise that’s missed the Playoffs for 12 years and just collect a check. But he’s been instrumental in our good start, and seems to be a great influence on the young guys.

Also, for whatever reason, I thought he was older but he’s still just 28 years old. That means he has around 4-5 good years left. Definitely should sign him up long term!

The '98 team was a total experiment....no one knew what to expect. That team, Vernon Maxwell came in and played the Shumpert role more actually, though Vlade was a vet too with excellent skill level. This current team is a little different in that expectations were low to very low coming in and they have defied most everyone except maybe the eternally optimistic. It is still mid-season though. The Kings are 3-3 on this difficult stretch and 5-5 is still up for grabs. 20 wins by end of December is still an outside though unlikely chance (going 3-1)

Yogi's ability to penetrate into the lane tonight was huge, we really need him to do that more so Bogie has fresher legs for spot up shots, I think Bogie might get worn out trying to go Harden/Doncic style off the bench I would like to see him mix it up more with him getting catch and shoot and play a little bit more through Yogi in the 2nd unit.

I never thought anything would top Bjelica's headlock on Afflalo in his top 10 career plays but man the burial of JJJ might have that was some Undertaker mad at Kane type burial.

That’s the type of game that may have converted the Grizzlies from deadline buyers to sellers. The Kings very easily could have just delivered a knockout blow to another playoff contender. They came in on a 5-game losing streak and threw absolutley everything they had at the Kings. And the Kings just methodically walked them down and sent them packing on a 6 game skid. The Grizz have to be wondering who they can actually catch for a playoff spot at this point, given their thin squad and injury history. They have Gasol on a big expiring, and Conley would be highly desired by the teams whi will be cap-tied this summer (Spurs, Heat, Bucks).

I dont know about fun despite the win - more like draining to watch. Like keeping up with a manic depressive.
Yeah, I meant the turnaround in the second half and ultimate win was fun. The first half was almost painful, but with this team I'm learning not to just write them off when they get down a bit. They can come back late in the game when the other team sometimes slows down.
