Sigh... I really expected something. Anything. Sticking with underachieving mediocrity FTW, I guess.

At least there wasn't a boneheaded move just for the sake of making a move...

It would be nice to see if this team as it stands could find success in a slower, half-court system through the end of the season. I guess that's the positive I can try to see in doing nothing. Of course, I'm relying on any significant schemes are adopted by Karl and his staff.

I dunno what moves we could have made. .. I liked the Rudy for Dipo trade that was bandied about. .. but other than that?

I guess I just didn't care because we'll only go as far as Karl's stubborn arse is willing to take us.

That's exactly how I feel.

Until we get a permanent coach in where we know what style we are going to play, I'm glad we didn't make any knee jerk moves
Actually there's a fair chance a failure to move here may have exactly the opposite effect on the offseason.

We make a move, a significant move now, then 27 games isn't really enough to fully evaluate, so there's a non-zero chance we end up keeping in place chunks of that team for next season to sees what happens.

By not making a move, if we don't rally to at least secure an 8th seed, then this roster failed, and there is absolutely no chance in hell its comes back next year. Vengeance is mine sayeth Vivek, and it will be a slaughter of the lambs.

Its rally or sayonara for much of our roster, and it could **** everything up again. Just hope Vlade retains enough power to protect Cuz/WCS.

Why are you guys complaining? Lets reevaluate our assets once we have a semblance of a direction moving forward
There is that word again.
We have one real asset that if moved would not be a wash. DeMarcus Cousins. That's it.
Draft picks for this team are only valuable if another team is making the pick. This team is a god damn mess and is run by complete imbeciles.

Well, we'll see how Vlades plan of "sending a message" to the coaching staff by firing an assistant and subsequently confusing the head coach, then saying he expects to make a trade then have nothing go down sits with the team moving forward. Now all parties involved can feel like they are in purgatory.

Suck it up and move on Kings.

If anything, Vlade showed that he's willing to make trades but will make it when he thinks it s a good deal....possibly plants seeds for this summer

Rumor was that it was Rudy for Pau at the buzzer and the Bulls said no. We better pray that it was just that, a rumor.

So you think a single first round pick was too much to take on the Landry, Thompson and Stauskas contracts? What move would you have preferred?
I'm not sure if people understand how valuable cap space is, or how expensive its going to be to get it right at the start of FA.

Also, we have to have the space before we can chase a lot FA targets, regardless of what we got, we needed the money first to be able to negotiate. For all we knew someone else dumps on Philly before we had a chance.

Also, when we have movable contracts, you never know what kind of deals you can get later, like our Rudy trade. There may be a bigger money guy who for whatever reason becomes available but you won't have a shot if you are carrying around bad money.

George Karl was confused long before Vlade fired Vance Walberg. I don't think the team is going to be negatively impacted by Divac not making any of the rumored trades. If anything, they know now with whom they'll be playing the rest of the season.

Exactly! Can anyone tell me what direction were headed in? What is the teams identity? What is this team known for, other than having the best big man in the NBA, firing head coaches at least once a year, replacing their GM at least once a year, and becoming a public spectacle at least once a month. I know some would disagree, but Petrie would look real good right now. A lot of what has happened wouldn't have happened under Petrie, and if your honest, you know that to be true.

I'm not advocating we bring back Petrie. That ship has sailed, but we need someone like him to right the ship. A ship that's headed for the rocks while everyone in charge is trying to find the owners manual. Look, I love Vlade, and to be fair, the jury is still out on him, but this is unknown territory for him. He's basically learning on the job. Now that's not such a bad thing if you inherit a team that is in great shape, where everything is already in place. But to inherit a team that's in chaos; a team that's the laughing stock of the NBA; that's a lot to ask of someone with no experience at the job.

I'm usually Mr. Optimistic, but I'm very close to having enough of this nonsense. OK, we didn't make a trade, but when the only trade we heard about that might happen, was to acquire a 35 year old center that in all likelyhood, would not resign with us during the summer, and were offering (not confirmed) Koufos, McLemore and perhaps Gay, and insuring that they get our 1st round pick this summer, I wonder what drugs they're on? Yeah, there's no doubt that Gasol would make us better, but what about next year?

Now there may be no validity to what I just posted. Most of it is nothing but rumor. But did anyone hear these kind of rumors when Petrie was GM? Nope, nada! And that's the point. He ran the ship with an iron hand. You crossed him and you were looking for a job. If you were a GM and you leaked the details of a trade with the Kings that didn't happen, you'd have a hard time getting Petrie to answer the phone in the future, and the league knew it. We need someone with experience to take charge. OK, I'm done with my rant!

They have no reason to hope for better now. Its a big psychological thing. Nothing has changed. First sign of adversity it will be easy as pie to lay down.

Your absolutely right, and that's what I fear. But who knows, maybe it's all for the best down the road. Personally, I see no reason to be optimistic about the last 29 games. I can grade them in advance for you if you want.
