New "Hella Proud" commercial is pretty good.

Nice Commercial.

Serious Question.

I haven't lived in Sacramento in almost 20 years, do people in Sactown still say "Hella"? o_O
I don't know why that keeps popping up. Haven't heard it much at all in what, decades? Apparently someone thinks it's still common. Not sure who though....

I didn't realize that was Doug Christie narrating. He and Bobby have great chemistry on the post game show. All around, this will be an entertaining year! What a commercial! Bring your best, Clips. We'll be ready ;)
Was that Doug"? For some reason I thought it was one of the guys that does either the HBO or Showtime (boxing) or UFC voice-overs for the countdown shows. Nice commercial but nicely done.

Did not know it was Doug until I read your post. Then it was like, yeah that was Doug:)

Love the video!

I like it even better now that I realize it is Doug (though after listening again, I was like DUDE! I hella should have caught that, damn)

Absolutely. It's a regional colloquialism that signals a hometown pride, that kind that is unique to the Sac region. It's actually THE perfect slogan for the Kings. They were definitely doing the happy dance when they came up with this one.

Interesting side note: when I was in 5th-6th grade (mid 80s), my friends and I literally thought we made that word up. I still think we may have.

For what it's worth, I haven't heard that word in years and I live here.
Maybe it's a class of people thing more so than a regional thing? (and I don't mean that as an insult)
Regardless, I like the ad. Go Doug!
