Kings and free agency - part 2

But ESPN sources say Dallas is Wes Matthews' preferred destination -- over both Kings and Raptors -- and that Mavs are favorites to land him

Obviously he prefers Mavs over us at this point. But its all about the $$$ at this point all he won't even come to meet with Vlade. If the Mavs increase their offer to say, $13-$14 mil, we probably will lose out even if we increase our offer to $16 mil due to the state tax difference. When the money difference is too small, he'll choose mavs over us. Lets hope the Mavs don't increase their offer.

ESPN sources say that the Sacramento Kings have offered Wes Matthews a three-year deal in the $45 million range

Wesley and his agent may be using us as leverage to increase Mavs' offer. So Vlade needs to get an answer before the meeting with Rondo tomorrow. We are not going to wait and miss out on other FAs while they haggle with Cuban.

Isn't this where Vivek comes in and says you have 24 hours or we rip up the offer?

Sadly, I would be 100% confident if the Kings gave him the absolute max he is allowed but 15 worries me, even though it is what he supposedly asked for.

I would be surprised if Vlade didn't tell him already that he has until midnight etc.

It's basically you want to play for us or not. We offered you the most money. If you can't decide within a few hours, you are obviously trying to get a better offer elsewhere. Nothing wrong with that, but we don't want to be a part of it.

I have a sad feeling that Wes is only using Sacramento to get extra $$$'s out of Dallas...

Prove me wrong Wes. Sign the dotted line!!

If they offered $15 million for 3 years to a will-be-29 year old coming off a frequently-career-ending (if not stifling) injury........ well, how confident are you in the Kings' medical staff/opinions?

I'm not sure how much more can he get, I think there's a chance that's the max for him (or at least very close to it)
