Vlade speaks about WCS, George Karl, etc.

More respect to Vlade!

The guy is born leader, diplomat, and such an adorable big fella.

It's good to have a VP that's 7'1" and willing to put people back to their proper chairs when the situation becomes uncomfortable.
How tall is Vivek? Maybe 5'9." I know standing next to his daughter looks bit shorter than her - but suppose she's in around 3" heels.

The honesty and transparency is fantastic.

"Mudiay could be a good player, one of the best players. But I don't know. I make decisions based on what I know."

I love that acknowledgement. He's not blowing smoke that WCS was the best player in this draft and we we were lucky to get him. WCS was the best pick for this team based on the information they were given. Pretty cool

Reminds of a Tony Montana type swagger, hes not afraid to give a direct anwser and be as honest as he can be. So glad we are over the political B.S and that god awful nervous laughter.

If im reading it correctly he is pretty adement about keeping Cousins but left the door open on firing Karl if he pulls any more B.S.

Other than admiting that players who don't workout for us get a big minus, which isn't even that big of a deal, he has handled this Sstorm about as well as you possibly can.

It is great seeing Vlade with a prominent role on the Kings. I think he was very charismatic and gave good answers in this interviews but I have a few worries with such a young owner and GM:

-Who is managing the financial aspect of contracts? We have been hurt mightily in the past by bad multi-year contracts. We need someone with a contracts background working with Vlade to perfect a long term vision.

-Karl was not chosen by Vlade. To build a functional team the GM and coach must be on the same page.

-Vlade saying he had someone other than WCS at number 1 is a little strange. That's a question you probably don't want to answer.

"I respect my coach, and I think he's great, but he has to trust me to do my job." - Vlad

That, folks, is the whole truth of the story. Vlad doesn't seem like the guy to lie, and neither is Cousins; they are both men of good character. It's a shame that a snake-like personality is among them, albeit a very accomplished snake. Personally, I believe that sometimes, consequences outweigh benefits... if you know what I mean

Vlade is a boss. It also sounds like Vivek has learned his lesson and is backing off.

He doesn't sound overly enthusiastic about Karl and Cuz getting along, but he doesn't seemed resigned to having to ship one out either.

There were some illusions to small ball which I'm not too psyched about. Rudy at the 4 and running two PGs..... But that's Karl... we shall see how it goes.

I have a good feeling about Vlade though. Polar opposite of PDA. Dude is confident, in charge, and up front.

Vlade also gets points for being Vlade. It's so rad that he is back with the franchise.

You're right about that. I like Vlade's pick because as a center, he must have a good eye for centers. But the financial stuff, we need someone on that pronto.

Yea all the smallball talk bothers me. Almost makes me wish George just steps away so we can get Boogie back on board and go away from smallball. But i guess with the right roster who knows, Warriors just won a ring with Draymond at the PF and even playing some Center in the Finals

I have great respect for Vlade and he's going to be the guy who keeps things under control and going to the right direction. By the way, I think he picked exactly right by taking WCS. WCS will do things for the Kings that only few anticipated. The guy is deadly under the basket. I hope the Kings will re-sign Casspi. I believe WCS and Casspi would be a great combo as both of them are very fast on the floor and Casspi would find WCS for dunks in every fastbreak.

It's completely possible to play "smallball" yet still play big. Two point guards, two centers makes for a strange sort of lineup, but incredibly interesting.

People make so much out of that. I mean, how hard is this supposed to be? You can pretty much do it off of hoopshype. No magic specialized knowledge. Just a question of judgment more than anything.

If you've abhorred numbers your whole life, it probably would seem that you need an "expert" in it, especially when the zeros after the significant figures start adding up. But it's probably more simple than most business financials. The arena financials are infinitely harder. There's very little wiggle room in the CBA. Unless you're the first guy to think of a loophole, you just go on copying tactics anyways.

The thing is the Warriors had tons of skilled players to back up small ball. It rarely works other wise a la Keith smart era
