JT wants to get traded (and other trade discussion)

And there's evidence that the starting five really isn't the problem! See latest article here: http://bit.ly/1Dm47vX

I'd really like to see some moves that turn the collection of bench parts into 3 good off the bench rotation guys, but given the assets we have, that could be difficult.
The problem was the bench under Malone (not the rotations). I was one of the few who never really turned on Malone and always thought the glaring deficiencies of the bench were problem número uno, as there apparently is no way to mix and match that bench to positive effect, even with a holdover starter, to make it work.

There's a fit and talent issue that even Hall of Fame* Coach Georgle Karl might not be able to fix.

Not much noise around any possible "splash" moves, however, although the Kings have shown interest in Jonas Jerebko (Detroit Pistons) and Ersan Ilyasova (Milwaukee Bucks). This was told to me this morning however the only online source I was able to confirm this with was SB Nation.
To nobody's surprise, I've been told that Jason and Derrick have most certainly been made available, but no bites. The Kings have added Nik Stauskas as a sweetener, which has teams interested, and while there are possibilities being discussed, nothing concrete in the works quite yet.

Okay, enough is more than enough.

I don't know what your game is, but unless you're willing to state who you are and what your link is with the Kings then you're just about done here.

You aren't Aaron Bruski, you aren't Woj, you aren't Carmichael Dave. You said you worked as a ticket rep last year for the Kings. Other than that, you're posturing as someone with insider knowledge and it's gotten to the point where you're disrupting this board.

It's not funny, it's not even entertaining. We're not impressed.

If this is true that JT wants out I don't blame him. Sometimes a change of scenery is necessary. The Kings' organization has been unstable for almost 10 years now: new head coaches, new assistants, relocation threats, new ownership, new GM, the whole new arena saga, players coming and going, etc. I don't know of any other NBA player- past or present- that has endured through so much distractions. JT has been a professional.

if fine trading him but we shouldnt be moving him for what is being discussed currently. He is a very moveable piece and a serviceable big who should do well with a HOF coach.

Ya leaving just when the partys starting JT.

don't blame him. he's had how many coaches since he entered the league? i believe a new one every season.

So how many trade deadlines has it been that we've waited to see where they ship JT, only to have him remain after the smoke cleared.

Anybody want to bet it happens again? Who's that guy I bet about Karl going .500 this season? Maybe we can make this a parlay. I'll bet JT stays

76ers beat writer keeps bringing up a Nik/Noel trade. Surely it can't be possible?

EDIT: Here's the quote from the article in question:

Would Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie consider trading slender big man Nerlens Noel for Kings rookie guard Nik Stauskas and perhaps a pick? Stauskas, the No. 8 overall choice last June, would provide perimeter shooting, has one more year of salary control than Noel and the Sixers apparently like him.

I wouldn't have thought they'd put Noel on the market. Unfortunately I haven't really seen Noel's development this year because he's on Philadelphia so I don't know if he's looking good or not. The numbers are fine but not out-of-this-world spectacular. But if you want a shotblocker who will get the heck out of Cousins' way on offense, Noel's your guy. Problem is, maybe he gets too far out of Cousins' way. With Noel on the court, the other team could basically double Cuz without the ball unless we could demonstrate an ability to get Noel a lob at will. His offensive +/- numbers are pretty atrocious in Philly so it would definitely be a caveat emptor situation, especially as it sounds like Philly would want a pick on top of it all to send him out.

the "and perhaps a pick" underscores once more the continuing damage that encumbered first rounder is doing to us. We can't "and perhaps a pick" anybody.

As for Noel, hard to tell in that system, but its also irrelevant. Boogie has been an MVP level player playing next to Jason Thompson. Noel is even more raw right now, but I'm willing to put money on him being able to at least reach JTs 5.6pts on .500TS% level during his career.

It might make sense that they'd look to move Noel, since Embid with Noel is probably not a great match playing together

Finally a trade rumor that makes serious sense and could help both teams if the worked at it a bit.
Makes sense for US. :)

They have to really believe in Nik though, or be somewhat irrationally disappointed in Noel as a skinny rookie. I'm totally and 100% game though if either or both of those things are true.

I said "if they worked at it" because I didn't think Nik would be enough from us.

Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't we offer some of the protected portion of this years pick. Like Chicago is worse than 10 and philly gets top 10?
Unfortunately not.

Chicago owns the pick if its 11 and up, so we can't trade their portion.

We own the pick if its #10 or better, but we still can't trade it, because if we do get to keep the pick this year, that means Chicago could still get our pick next year. So we can't trade our remainder this year because if Chicago then got it next year it would be consecutive years.

The only way to end this nonsense is just to finally start winning and let Chicago have that pick this year.

maybe, we've been throwing those things around like candy, likely because we can't use firsts. Not sure how many are left now.
We don't have any (tradeable) second-round picks until 2018. Our 2017 second-rounder is also encumbered by the "Hickson" pick - until that pick is conveyed it stands in lieu of our protected first-rounder in the 2017 draft.
