JT wants to get traded (and other trade discussion)

I always liked Petrie, i think most of us agree that if he was given the tools to do his job like PDA is we would be a much better team. One thing though...was the Webber trade his idea cause that was the day a part of me died...
Nah, that was the day in Dallas when CWebb's knee crumpled beneath him. Can't blame Petrie for that.

Yeah like before 2013 when there was no internet or twitter. o_Oo_Oo_O

Petrie was a master at running a tight ship and tight lipped front office. Let's not try to rewrite history. The man had some great strengths. When you consider the buffoonery of the Maloofs, it's shocking how little interpersonal drama ever came out of the actual front office. That's called professionalism and class. Petrie had gobs of it.
What was his motto, "A King until not a King," or something along those lines. He kept a tight ship but at the same time with the explosion of social media how much of a staff did he have left in the final years. Fewer people, easier to track a leak down. Those final years were filled largely with cost saving, give me money and I will do this type moves. When he was good, there wasn't any better. Do you remember the debates between who was better, Dumars or Petrie? How the mighty fell. I have to wonder how much he would have left in the tank, those last couple years had to take a toll on the soul.

I try not to remember 2007-2012, its just a blur of time I'd like to forget.

Either way, twitter wasnt popular or even around in his hayday, something GMs need to account for nowadays.

True, I sometimes wonder how differently that year would have turned out had he not had that injury.

Probably NBA champions :p
As much as I love cousins if PDA was able to squeeze 2-3 top lottery picks and a couple quality players from a desperate team I would really have to rethink my position on PDA.

As in you currently think PDA is bad but if he got that for Cousins you'd think he was the worst GM in professional sports history?

Anyone who even entertains the idea of trading Cousins for anyone not named LeBron/Durant is a complete tool and has no idea what they're talking about.

All the Cousins stuff comes from a Bill Simmons hypothetical. It's really damning of the press that a dude throwing up dream scenarios gets re-reported as news ten times over.
That's not on 'the press, that's on the twenty-four hour news cycle. The press didn't create a demand for that.

Not much noise around any possible "splash" moves, however, although the Kings have shown interest in Jonas Jerebko (Detroit Pistons) and Ersan Ilyasova (Milwaukee Bucks). This was told to me this morning however the only online source I was able to confirm this with was SB Nation.

Can you provide the link, please?

As long as they don't give much for those guys (ie a Landry for illyasova swap), I'd be fine with it. Knowing this front office we'll be swapping JT and stauskus for him.

What is your opinion on Ersan Ilyasova? I personally like him as a player however I'm not sure if I would rather have him over Jason Thompson.
Injury prone, not the defender he was and hasn't been a stretch 4 for a few seasons. We'd be hoping that would all turn around which is why we shouldn't waste good assets on him. JT is currently more valuable to this team and that's without throwing in a recent lottery pick.

I'd trade Landry for him.

I'm not especially attached to Jason Thompson, but he's the only guy on our team who can defend low post bigs. I feel like whatever trade we make to move Thompson has to bring back a player who can also do that. Ersan Ilyasova is not that player.

To nobody's surprise, I've been told that Jason and Derrick have most certainly been made available, but no bites. The Kings have added Nik Stauskas as a sweetener, which has teams interested, and while there are possibilities being discussed, nothing concrete in the works quite yet.

I'd do a straight expirings swap of Williams for Jerebko I guess. Not worth adding much more, though.

As for the Bucks, ilyasova of a couple years ago would be an interesting fit, but I wouldn't add much value for him in his current state. Landry? Absolutely. Some combo of Thompson and Stauskas? I'd want to see Henson coming back, too.

For a guy on the level of Jerebko or Ilyasova, I can't fathom including Nik. I'd rather stand pat than do that.

That's where I'm at. Rearranging deck chairs and all - I wouldn't get very excited either way.

I would definitely put Stauskas on the block for Henson. I can't imagine the Bucks doing it, but that's the kind of return where you don't worry about losing Nik.

No one is above getting traded.
Look up the Herschel Walker trade. Dallas ended up bending Minnesota over a barrel on that trade. Considered one of the worst trades in all of sports. This would be the only instance id entertain a cousins trade.
Your telling me if PDA could find someone who's willing to give up the world for cousins you wouldn't do it? And Im the tool? Ha hahaha

Would you take on Mayo's deal to make it work? I could see something like JT/Williams/Stauskas for Henson/Ilyasova/mayo.
