Rudy deserves a lot more criticism than Thomas tonight. Want to talk about forced shots? Almost all of Gay's shots have been heavily guarded attempts.
Yep, IT is always the issue on this forum. The reality is that the whole team is the reason for the losses, not just one player. I think IT could be a top PG in the league if he ever learns how play his position. With that said, I have been pretty pissed at IT here on this forum before, but tonight he's been playing good

In all fairness, Rudy looks best when he's paired with Cousins. Right now he's trying to figure out his role, something that's nearly impossible because - uh oh, I'm gonna get in trouble - the point guard on the court isn't playing like a point guard should. Case in point? IT running around dribbling until he almost loses the ball and then kicks it to Rudy, expecting Rudy to do something with only three seconds left on the shot clock. In that particular instance, Rudy did - I think - make the shot but that's not the kind of teamwork you want to see and it's certainly not something you can develop a rhythm with.

True, but I'd then ask, "why isn't anyone creating better looks for him within the offense?"

Does our PG not have a responsibility to get our #1 option out there better looks so he doesn't have to force? Rudy generally doesn't force when he's being set up.
....ridiculous. Gay demands the ball as soon as IT brings it up.. what does Gay do? He dribbles down 20s while his teammates are running around and he decides to take a contested jumper... You can't blame his 6-21 shooting. You obviously have some grudge against IT. Gay forces up a lot of his shots.

IT is playing good D and Offense tonight, but as usual, we don't have a PG and everyone looks lost.

And my counter, for better or worse, will always be that Thomas isn't THAT good. I think he IS good, but he's not perfect. I don't know how realistic expecting more than 24 + 7 with .500 shooting is. Rudy is perfectly capable of getting himself going, and playing better than he has tonight. We've seen him play better without Cousins / with Thomas before. He can do it, He's talented enough to do it .. he's clearly getting the shot opportunities, he's just taking extremely low percentage shots or forcing contact and the refs aren't biting.

I just can't blame Thomas for everything. The point guard is important, yes, but he is not supposed to take responsibility for the play of everyone else on the roster. That isn't how PG's are graded everywhere else. Is it all Jrue Holidays fault the Pelicans suck? How about Ty Lawson? Rubio? Kyrie? etc. I wouldn't put that much pressure on anyone.

Only thing ridiculous here is your reply which makes little sense.

Your grasp of an NBA system, an offensive set and how to get players good looks is an embarrassment.

EXACTLY! And it happens all the time. IT gets his - and the fanboys rejoice - but the team loses and nobody seems to know what's going on.
IT has played some solid minutes a good part of the season, yet this PG skills don't seem to be improving. I guess he is destined to be a spark plug off the bench for his entire career

Thomas plays better with Cousins as well. That didn't stop him from getting hammered harder than any player I can remember on these boards during that stretch when both Rudy and DMC were out.

And you know what? Thomas didn't play well in that stretch. I can admit that, but I thought he did what he could, which isn't much when he is the best player on the floor.

If Rudy is getting a pass because Cousins is out, and Thomas doesn't, well, all I can say is that I totally expected that.

And it's all fine. I respect the opinions of most of the posters here even though I disagree, but I do think the crazy amount of love IT gets from Grant and Jerry hurt him here, which is unfair, but there is nothing anyone can do about that.

Rudy is getting shots up but he's hasn't gotten the ball much where he operate best. Part is no Boogie, part is on him not getting better position, part is also the poor sets we're running and IT giving it to him in poor spots at times. IT sure hasn't created easy looks for Rudy tonight for the most part.

This isn't blaming IT for everything though. Part of course is on Rudy. He hasn't played well. I just asked how much is it the PG's responsibility to set up the #1 option more often where he operates best? Comparing his role to that of a Rubio or Kyrie doesn't make sense. Kyrie IS the #1 option. Rubio is not a top 2 option and instead repeatedly and consistently looks to set his top options up. If a PG as good as CP3 regularly looks to set up his teammates and create easy looks for them, then why is it too much to ask IT to do the same? I don't see that as blaming him for everything though. All I'm blaming him for in this back and forth is not getting Rudy better looks at times. Rudy deserves blame too.

NO one wants to talk about the easy buckets our defense gets.. yet will continue to talk about IT's horrible defense on Curry that has him shooting 5-14. No one wants to talk about Gay's 6-21 shooting night, yet will consistently bring up that IT is shooting 9-17 and under 50%. People bring up IT's 7tos but refuse to look at Gay's 4. Then people want to blame Gay's horrible shooting night on IT because he dribbles the clock down to 20 at takes a forced shot.

IT and Outlaw were the king's only offensive players, yet everyone will continue to make a huge deal about every little thing IT does wrong, yet refuses to mention anything about the rest of the team.
