Kevin Martin and Francisco Garcia.

We're seeing the future of the Kings right before our eyes.

Any questions?

...

Sorry if this appears duplicative, but I couldn't do this until the game was over because I was doing the PBP.

Both young men, IMHO, deserve the applause.

:D

Kevin....23 pts, 8 rebs, 3 assts, 2 stls
Garcia....8 pts, 7 rebs, 6 assts, 5 stls, 3 blks

Nope! No questions. :D

Terrific games from both! What's fun to watch is the interaction between them. You can just see them pulling for each other!:D

Garcia is playing the way that Jason Hart was supposed to. Who would have thought that a rookie that was a shooter in college would become a better defender than shooter.

The future is going to be a total team effort...led by Artest...no offense to your praise about our Young Guns, VF:) The future looks DAMN bright, all of a sudden! Remember all the stressing we were doing about the future of the team just under a month ago?? Wow how things can change in a HURRY!

Jason Hart...meet Ronnie Price, at the end of the bench;)

what steals in the drafts by geoff!

i remember a lot of people complaining with the garcia pick, those days are long gone.

i love what i'm seeing ( well, what little i am seeing consdering how few games i watch per season :( ) the future is bright indeed!

Cisco and Kevin complement eachother very well, Kevin with good penetrating ability and a nice 3 point shot from the wing; Garcia with respectable ball handling skills, great fast break instincts and court awareness, and a very energetic disruptive presence on defense.

Between the two of them you have a franchise player.

I love these 2 guys. They are playing with a lot of heart and energy and they have this growing "relationship" on the court. They are looking out for each other and genuinely excited when one of them does something special. They are developing some real chemistry out there.

Garcia has shown to be better than advertised in areas that were supposed to be his weaknesses. His shot will continue to improve and he will develop into a shooter that he was advertised as. He is not one dimentional though :)

These 2 are coming along great. So much so that I would seriously consider trading Bonzi

very big game tommorow

hope artest can hold out and bring us his defense which in turn will influence others around him to play better defense which in turn may result in another blowout over phoenix :D

hehehe doubt it... but who knows... just want a win tommorow and enough effort in the game for a win! hope for another big game for kevin and cisco!

SPECIAL K and CISCO!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!

GO KINGS!!!!!

I couldn't listen or see the 2nd half so I have a question.......did CHI just lockdown Kevin in the second half after he went off in the first half?

As I was watching the game last night, my cousin asked - "How do you put Bonzi back in the lineup with Martin playing so well?"

My response was easily. You put him in until the end of the year and either S&T him or don't re-sign him.

Martin has come into his own and is no longer a bnech-type player. He deserves to be on the court and shouldn't be sitting behind Bonzi for another year (or years), at least in my opinion.

This kid has been the most impressive player on our roster over the past couple weeks.

As for Garcia, he's inconsistant ... but when he brings it ... he brings it. I love his hustle ... and I prefer him at PG than I do Bibby. Last night he continued to break his man down and shuffle the ball inside or out to the open player. Great eyes!

Uh, ditto what y'all said. :) Kevin is showing amazing potential and Garcia is starting to round into a good complimentary player who is doing all the little things.

Not sure about Bonzi getting the boot yet, though. Let's see how the rest of the season works out against some stiffer competition before booting him. I love his energy and effort and would be a shame to get rid of a big veteran body at that position until we are sure of the direction we want to go there.

Agreed with Warhawk. I'm not ready to toss Bonzi yet either. The guy is an animal on the court and we need that fire he brings.

As a long time critic of Kevin Martin's play, I'm sincerely glad to see his game coming around so well. I have always liked Garcia. What looks pretty clear is that these guys are going to have nice careers in the league, hopefully integral Kings parts for a long time.

I'm not ready to "toss" Bonzi. But, Bonzi IS playing for a contract and is going to command some dollars.

The question I'd have is - if Martin continues to play heads-up basketball, is it a wise move to relegate him to the bench and potentially limit his development? Potentially hurting his feelings along the way and we lose a bright, young star?

I dunno. I know that Bonzi on the bench has never worked before and I just don't think it wise to place Martin on the bench for another year.

i am impressed with Garcia's rebounding ability although I do think he rushes his shot alittle and Kevin is just doing awesome what can i say

I don't think either should be on the bench and there in lies the problem. If Martin starts and Bonzi is gone, who backs up Martin? Back to the problem we had in the beginning of the year with no one to back up Bonzi. (when K. Martin wasn't tearin it up) I don't know what they'll do. At least its a problem at this position where too much talent is the case instead of too little.
