Generally speaking, it's not especially noteworthy for a 23-year-old NBA player to scramble a 53-year-old politician with a crossover during a pro-am game. However, I think we can make an exception for the clip above for three reasons: 1. The particular flavor of crossover selected by Tyreke Evans — dribbling the ball out with one hand, reaching across his body with the opposite hand and pulling the ball back in front of the defender while moving past him to the basket — is one preferred and made famous (stateside, anyway) by New York City streetball star and Providence College guard God Shammgod , and it's always fun to remember him . 2. Evans' victim, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, came right back down and dropped a dime off a no-look bounce pass on the other end, so justice was served. 3. Tyreke may be suiting up for the New Orleans Pelicans next season, but it's an odd bit of coincidence that one of the foremost supporters of the return of the Seattle SuperSonics got shaken up by a guy who's spent the last four years with the Sacramento Kings, in light of everything that happened this past year .
