I doubt he does either, but I'm not so sure the Lakers care and his production was really down this year (and his impact low in the playoffs -- a definite liability defensively).
Course they might want to keep him around just for leadership.
Gosh, if only there was a player available at #7 who would stick a dagger from anywhere on the court, open or not...![]()
Whats wrong with Beno's outside shooting? Since he's been here he has shot
39%
31%
38%
36%
One blip his second year here, but otherwise he has shot pretty damn well from 3 point land. Not sure what else you guys want for an outside shooter. Why try and replace a 37% 3 pt shooter with a 40% shooter when we have guys like Tyreke and Donte hitting them at a 29% clip? It would be like drafting Demarcus Cousins II this year because he shoots 5% better from the FT line.
We need to better our weaknesses and if were talking about Beno then we need to talk Defense #1 and everything else falls in after that.
Hmmm, I see what you did there.![]()
Hamilton?
Beno's not that bad of a shooter, but the difference between a Fisher type and Beno is that Fisher made a living by spreading the court. Being a spot shooter is incredibly important. Beno much like Tyreke is more comfortable gathering himself and making a move rather than shooting the ball quickly. That transition time from gathering himself virtually eliminates himself from being a player perimeter defenders have to stick to and therefore allows them to cheat inside and help. He's a good off the dribble shooter but having nothing but off the dribble shooters is a terrible way to attempt to spread the floor for the very reason I mention above.
That plus while people may have forgotten because he's fallen so far in this area, Fisher was quite the defensive player back in the day.
Jimmer!!

Derek Fisher.Veteran guy for our youngs too.
So basically, if Jimmer could play better defense, and his ball handling was up to snuff, he would be the perfect guard next to Evans?
