Wow, it's getting testy

Jerry Stackhouse has never been anything BUT a garbage player. Every team he has been on has been the worse for his presence. Oh, wow, he can score 25 points a game while sucking at every other aspect of the game because he lacks the motivation and heart to do anything but play one-on-one and make himself look like a self-aggrandizing jackass. What a guy.

Tell us how you really feel.

QD, do you have a couple of hours and a bottle of your home vintage? I could go on about the virtues of the Barry-types versus the Stackhouse-types for a few days, I'm pretty sure. :p

Van Gundy's saga PAID OFF TONIGHT for the Rockets. No foul problems at all.
you know, that comment might make sense if it wasn't for the fact we dusted you in the 4th without Yao Ming. (For those of you who didn't watch, JVG's TMac with the bench lineup dusted the Mavs to such at outrageous level that JVG never brought Yao Ming into the 4th quarter...at all...zero seconds of play.) So, even if we had foul problems with Yao, it wouldn't have mattered.

bring on game 7

that's all that matters

gotta love it!

All I'm saying is if the Rockets win this series I DO NOT want to hear the Mavs blame it on this whole Van Gundy situation...but they probably will!...
GO HOUSTON!!!!!

Emkings - I didn't blame the loss on the refs / Van Gundy situation. Look at my posts, we lost because of what HeyPartner said: 15% FG shooting vs. 55%+ FG shooting or however high it was I lost count.

I'm not a huge Stackhouse fan, but I'd disagree with this generalization. Sure, he may have behaved in such fashion for a period in his career, and some of his recent statements may lend to the perspective that he's never changed, but if memory serves, the year after he averaged 30 ppg during a season he drastically reduced his shot attempts on a Pistons team that I think made the playoffs a couple years after Grant Hill left. That Pistons team wasn't worse for his presence, and neither are this year's Mavs (media quotes notwithstanding).

As for this series, it's been a great entertaining series that the Rockets should have locked up in game 4. If they lose game 7, I'll have to turn a deaf ear to any and all complaining from Rockets' fans about bad calls in game 5 (and potentially game 7). Rockets had 8 and 6 point leads with 6 minutes or less in the 4th quarter of both games 3 and 4 and couldn't hold them. Not to mention missing at least 6 free throws and giving up at least 5 offensive boards in the 4th quarter alone of game 5. No one to blame but themselves if they can't move on to round 2.

The Don was displeased
lmao.....the Don.....how fitting. A great way to describe Stern. Despite people saying that the conspiracy theories are wack and all.....I honestly believe that mr. Stern manipulates the league. This was the case during the MJ era.....this was the case during the Lakers run from 200-2002. Don Stern and his "men" were involved....

P.S

and it's ridiculous that Stern is thinking about a lifetime ban for vangundy....he is crossing the line. He needs to take the blinders off.......and do something with the refs...the officiating this year has been horrible...probably the worst in the recent years.

These officials need to stop calling silly touch fouls and try to take over games...let the players play the game. These refs need to stop babying the superstars and giving them "superstar treatment" its sickening to wach.

So instead of denying it, mr stern....how about you do something about it.

DALLAS — Jeff Van Gundy, never one to back down from a good fight, went after Avery Johnson today, one day after the Mavs coach said that Van Gundy only started complaining about the officiating after the Rockets lost Games 3 and 4 of their first-round series.

"It is revisionist history," Van Gundy said on the eve of Game 7. "His words speak for themselves."

Following Houston's Game 6 victory, Johnson criticized the media's coverage of the series for focusing too much attention on Van Gundy's fine and not giving Dallas credit for winning three straight games. Van Gundy was fined $100,000 before Game 5 for saying that an NBA official had informed him that the referees would be looking more closely at Yao Ming.

"Maybe I need to go crazy," Johnson said during his rambling postgame tirade on Thursday. "Maybe that will help. We lost the game. The game was called fairly, pretty much. No excuses. No complaining."

Johnson, of course, was fined $10,000 for berating referee Joey Crawford after Game 1. After losing Game 2, Mavs owner Mark Cuban complained to the league, saying that Yao was setting illegal screens.

"I made a mistake and I've made some before," Van Gundy said. "All you can do is apologize. I shouldn't have used the word biased or brought somebody else into it. But I would think (Johnson), who just coached a little over half a year and had his own thing after Game 1, would realize that mistakes do happen. He had to be restrained from attacking a ref. But I understand what he's doing. He's doing what he thinks is right. But feel free to call me by my name. Don't beat around the bush."

I'm liking Van Gundy more and more...

Avery has a huge mouth.

Terry looks like Oprah or NV Annoying.

Daniels and Howard are officially two of the ugliest players in NBA. Daniels more so cuss he always scares me.

He's played well with Dallas, but I don't like what he does when he's on the floor with Dirk and Finley. He doesn't make any greater attempt to get them involved than he would Carrot Top and Tom Clancy. He also leaves Terry standing at the corner for three, where he is absolute money, so that he can drive into the lane, fire up an awkward flailing fadeaway and complain about how he thinks he was fouled. Detroit was the only situation I've seen him in where he did not hurt the team at times.
