Just wondering what you guys think we may do. We are barely under the LT and want to stay under it. So with that in mind will we stand pat with our team or make more moves or sign a FA or two.

Current Roster
Bibby/Hart/Price/Douby
Martin/Salmons
Artest/Garcia/Williamson
Reef/Thomas/Amundson
Miller/Potapenko/Williams

that is asmuing Pooh isn't signed and Amundson and Williams are

now that i posted the question here is my take. GP/Maloofs aren't stupid they see the void we have in the frontcourt. Now they are giving some youngsters a chance with Amundson and Williams but i feel we need a some more insurance there to set their mind at ease. I also feel they don't want to take Hart, Thomas, and Reef into next season so i feel a trade involving Hart and 1 of the two PF for something maybe combo PF/C or a more efficient PF. Williamson and Potapenko unfortuanatly all they can offer is expiring contracts to a team so unless a team desires that aspect of them we are stuck with those 2 expiring contracts ourselves

I think Musselman will have his depth chart a little different ...

Bibby/Salmons/Price/Hart
KMart/Salmons/Douby/Garcia
Artest/Garcia/Salmons/Williamson
SAR/K9/Amundson
Miller/SAR/ Patopenko

I think Hart should be the last guy on the depth chart. We obviously need another big and I'm not sure Justin Williams will cut it.

that was a roster list not a depth chart. as you can see the players were only listed once the depth chart reads much more different as several players will play more than one position. Hardly what this thread is about.

I'm a bit wary and not because I think that GP or the Maloofs are stupid, but because of the limited viable options that are out there. I'm sure they realize the void, but here we are a year later with basically the same frontcourt, barring a Skinner for Potapenko swap (which weakened us, if anything).

We'll make at least one trade, and sign a big-man FA for the LLE.

I'd be absolutely shocked if we made no more moves and keep the roster we have now (excluding Amundson/Williams if one or both make it), with so much time left in the off-season, for opening night.

I honestly don't see any changes which makes me sad unless they go overy luxury tax.

From looks of it back court will be worse without bonzi's toughness and rebounding, no telling what douby will do if he even gets time.

And I'm sceptical about Garcia, if he can get back to pre ankle injury that would be great, he was playing well then.

Then the frontcourt is just...bleh.

So far we haven't gotten better, hopefully the young guys can make big strides.

the addition of Salmons and the progression of Kevin and Garcia is going to have our backcourt just as good if not better than last year. Artest worked better with Kevin and Garcia on the floor than he did Bonzi. I guess it was the spreading of the offense that made it possible. I have no doubts about the backcourt. Now our frontcourt is another story. I would like to keep Reef has good post up skills and good defensive post up skills. just needs to get back to the 10 rebound guy from yesteryear. Maybe the absence of Bonzi will add to Reef's rebounds. Now Miller has to sure up defensive or we better find a quality backup that is.

I dont think we will make any more moves before the start of the season. - Not becuase we dont have players we would like to ship out (KT, Hart, Corliss, Potatohead) - its just that no other teams want these guys either and im guessing that Petrie wont do a blockbuster trade involving our star players.

I said "Sign a non impact FA for depth in the frontcourt?", and im not really expecting that either. I would be totally expecting to come into the season with our current lineup, but any surprises are welcome

Agree with your view mostly. Williams will cut it but they need to unload Hart for a 2nd rounder somewhere. Patopenko will likely be backup to Miller when the matchup calls for a big guy in middle. Otherwise I see Amundson or Williams getting some minutes in the middle in preseason to see who can show they can play at next level. It will all be matchups: Suns, Clips, Warriors or Nuggets for example, not a time for Patopenko against their second "bigs" who may be tall but not big.

No.

We don't want to go over the luxury tax and we aren't.

Petrie is going to trade players we already have making out salary exactly the same.

That's how he works. Every off-season, we all anticipate something big in FA, but really we are always dissapointed. We just need to bare it out until Petrie makes another trade.

I think Petrie will stand pat. I hate it but I don't see us getting Wilcox or anyone like that. Don't see him making a big trade either. There's not too many interior defenders/athletes/shotblockers out there.

I think we may be standing pat, but I'm still leaning toward Petrie signing the token "non impact" front court player. But, hey... at this point if he picked up a non-impact 2 guard FA I wouldn't be surprised .
