Will the Real Tyreke Evans Please Stand Up??

“I can’t imagine him in Year Five or Six. He probably won’t peak until he is in Year Seven. He will only be 27 then. That’s crazy. Think about what he could be at his rate of growth right now. He’s going to be scary.” – Lamont Peterson

^That was whats suppose to happen this year as well. So whats going on? I'm surprise no media people such as Jason Jones who covers the team has dug into it some more on the cause of Tyreke's struggles. The article makes some legit points. We need some answers damn it.

Good article regarding Evans. If the ankle and foot are bothering Evans maybe he should shut it down for a little bit, rest, heal up and then come back strong. The team is only 20 games into the season. The last thing the Kings need is Evans' injuries to get worse and then really lose him for a long, long time. I'm confident Evans will get out of his funk but playing hurt won't help him.

Imho i think most of his troubles have to do with his injuries. Because of his injuries, he has been a little more cautious when penetrating for the fear of causing further aggravation to his existing injuries. As a result he has not made a lot of his shots because he does not put them up with confidence like last year. This loss of confidence in his ability to finish at the rim causes him to take more of his undoubtedly flawed jumpshots and try to score that way instead, which as many of us know hasnt been very successful. In addition to that he believes that he is supposed to be the one carrying the team and that amplifies his failures that much more. And that isnt all. Right now he is confused with what he is supposed to be doing. He doesnt whether he should try to pass first and set up teammates or have a score-first mentality like last year. As a result of his indecisiveness, his game has been affected even more. And im not even going to mention all of the steps teams are taking this year to stop him. So you tell me, does that seem like an easy thing to go through when your expected to be the star player on a young inexperienced team?

Yeah, injury has to be part of it. But if its very severe I don't understand why there aren't more detail reports on it. Seems like no one wants to take about it.

Tyreke did post this on his twitter today

"Goin go see a foot physician for my plantar faciaitis.... don't y'all worry ima be good ma agent just wanted me to get checked out! Blessed"

But I don't know, it seems there is more to it. I hope there isn't though.

I think that is more of a problem than his injuries. He seems like he doesn't know what he wants to do or he is disinterested in the game, which is not the Tyreke from last year. I don't know if there is any locker room animosity but that could be a reason too for such bad team work.

Obviously bad chemistry is not just on Tyreke. We don't know who exactly, but DMC is headstrong, Landry+Dalembert are in their contract yrs, Greene vs Casspi (silent competition). I'm not saying they are causing the trouble because at this point, probably even PW doesn't know. But this is very strange.

That about sums it up. I realy can't put my finger on it, and nobody seems to be talking about the only sorts of things I can imagine could cause it.

I wonder if Amick will come up with an inside story soon. The one that Jason Jones is suppose to be reporting right about now.

I think he's slowly coming to the realization that hes not a PG. Its a learning process for him and his staff im sure, but the sooner he finds his place among the team the better.

Can it be off court issues .... such as the affects of fame and fortune???

There is no concrete evidence, but from what I've seen on twitter and online blogs, his brothers have been sort of living it up and living the high life. The trainer LP, is doing the same with the brothers. What happen to the positive reinforcements from the brothers? Remember last year when Tyreke would have a few bad shooting games, the brothers will fly in to do shooting drills with him. Too busy spending lil bro's money? How can Tyreke not get lured by the fast life of partying, rapping, clubbin that his inner circle is involved in. After all, he is only 21.

Where has Lamont Peterson been through all these struggles?

Again, Tyreke doesn't need to be a pure PG to be effective. He seems unsure or worse, uninterested. Like he has something else on his mind.

He looks like he doesnt know what to do from what ive been seeing. He really has a scorefirst mentality. Then you see Pooh and Beno out there running the offense, and you wonder if Tyreke's confidence in being a PG takes a hit. Seems like hes in a quandry about what he should be doing on the floor. He could say hes going to be "aggressive", but that doesnt mean much if he doesnt know exactly what hes supposed to be doing.
