Wii Lego rock band question

Knowing nothing about the Rock Band games, my mother-in-law is looking into getting our 6.5-year old son Lego Rock Band for Christmas (due to the more kid-friendly content).

Any advice on instruments, etc., including which to get and where for a good deal? Anything I need to know? Basically clueless here and could use some help!

Does it come in a bundle with guitar/mic/drums? If so get that and consider getting a second guitar if you wish to play with 4 players.

If not I would consider getting the Beatles Rock Band bundle and then get Lego Rock Band. That will get you the cheapest instruments and more family friendly tunes. There was even a value version of the Beatles Rock Band that came with RB 1 Instruments, though the drums from RB2 are a significant improvement.

Agreed. Get RB/RB2 with the set. and get LRB game seperately.
