why on earth did the wolves not go after Maurice Evans?

Instead they spend all of their time going after Damien Wilkins to an offer sheet when It was always possible that we would match the offer sheet. They could not only of got a similar player cheaper but a guy who is better than Damien to be honest. It was clear after the Kings signed SAR that no real offer could be matched yet the wolves spend several weeks trying to sign Wilkins and when they finally do. The offer sheet is matched.

Just shows how poor the management and judgement is in Minny.

I think that is it in a nutshell, RA34. It was a stupid gamble and they lost.

Aren't they desperately trying to get finley now? I heard KG flew out to chicago with timberwolve executives to meet finley. KG went to show how serious the team is about acuiring finleys services.

He went "with" timberwolve executives. But u could just be being sarcastic, so I don't think I really need to explain it to u.

it was sarcasm.... sorry if it didnt appear clear ;)

It may be jumping to conclusions to blame TWolves management. Evans got to decide where to sign an offer sheet, he may have thought backing up Rip and playing for a championsihp was a better situation than trying to mix in with Hassell, Jaric, McCants, Szczerbiak and Griffin as the TWolves rebuild. If that was Evans' thought process I'd have to agree with him.

You said it yourself RA34.

They had Wilkins signed to an offer sheet, but Sonics matched, so they got focused on that. Then like one day before or after, Evans signed the sheet with Detroit.

They've been going after Finley ever since last week anyways. They'll have plenty of swingmen then, or if they don't anyways.

I'm sure Mo liked the detroit situation, who wouldn't? but he would of picked minny over the pistons most likely if they offered more money. Basically they could of offered the same contract as they did Wilkins. 18 million over 5 years which would of had Evans set for a long time.
