Why not more High Post offense through Miller?

I noticed that we;ve been giving the ball to Cuttino a lot lately. I don't understand why we're not trying to use Miller as an initiator when he's in the game. Sure we did it a couple of times, but I'd say just as many times we started with Cuttino at the top of the key passing to someone other than Brad.

I'm sure we'll see more of that each game. Brad's less than 30minutes off of a major injury though, so who knows about timing, reads, chemistry etc. Of course at this point could not get much worse. Thing is, that while there was this hope, founded or unfounded, that Brad would just take over and be Vlade/Webb, the fact is while those guys were here he was very much of a second fiddle as far as intiating. I'm not even sure if he is a great #1 intiator even when healthy. He is a very good passer, but has neither the full range of skills nor that little extra mustard which made Vlade/Webb so unique. Might only be a spot guy once every few minutes, some pick and rolls etc. But its going to be hard for him to have much impact like that until he's getting his full starting minutes once again. Just a difficult situation -- how many times have we had to rebuild this offense and lineup this year? Be lucky if the coaches even know what we're running on any given day, let alone our cast of thousands switching in and out of the lineup.

The novelty of having a player like Cuttino on the team is quickly wearing off for me.

This is NOT the team I am used to watching play, the team with crisp passing, superior ball movement, back door cuts, open jumpshots, etc. This is Cuttino Mobley and Mike Bibby forcing the action, Peja not getting involved on offense, and two "big men" just standing around, waiting for someone to take their picture with Santa Claus.

I miss Chris Webber, I miss Vlade Divac, I miss the old Brad Miller, I miss Doug Christie. I miss the old two man game, where we actually passed in the half-court offense; now the two man game means only two men take shots. I miss the high-post motion offense. I miss the good ol' days.

That having been said, if we - as a team - start to realize that it's a lot harder to guard 5 moving players and a moving ball than it is to guard a bunch of isolation plays, we can get back into this series and put some pressure on Seattle. As it stand right now, though, we seem to have no desire to do that. It's maddening.

Poor Rick. How many different offenses has he run this year.
