But, do you think Webber's ego would have let him play a couple games in the minors? He wouldn't consider coming off the bench, what makes you think he'd play in the minors?

Is Webb's ego that much bigger than any baseball player who's done the same? If it was equally ingrained in the culture and accepted, I don't think it would have been a big deal. Of course the reality of things is that the NBDL and the MLB minor leagues are very different, and we'll never really know. I just think it would have been nice to see Webb preform in a Kings lite minor system, see that he wasn't 100%, then tank the season to get Dwight Howard.
