Why does a veteran like Brad Miller make so many DUMB mistakes?

It happens so often, he thinks hes a point guard sometimes. So many ill advised passes, so many times he tries to dribble when he CANT. It gets irritating to watch, and why was Quincy Douby in for so long down the stretch? Why didn't Jason Thompson see any minutes down the stretch?
