Why do you think GP traded Webber?

In all honesty, I cannot think of a reason. Maybe there is something more to it than meets the eye. He was clearly our best player ths season (we will agree to diagree), but it doesn't make any sense at this juncture in the season on any level. It can't be for rebuilding either becasue we just took on long contracts. I really don't know.
If I am Petrie and I am trading Webber, it's because his injury slows down the entire team you have assembled around him.
If I am Petrie and I trade Webber in the middle of the season for a bunch of bench players with long contracts, then my reasoning must either be that I have another trade lined up or that I baby powder Peja's diaper every night.

I've got my suspiscions.
However, since that's all they are, I see no reason in getting into that at almost 3:00 AM.

The only logical answer is that the franchise wants to lose. Why would we want to lose?

Off the top of my head?
1. Petrie/Maloofs belive Webber may never be as tradeable again and could end up a lame duck with a huge contract so they are cashing out.
2. There was an actual power struggle between Web and Pedja and for what ever reason they sided behind Pedja. (Yes there are good reasons on both sides)
3. Petrie belives that he can get more from his remaining almost allstars if they had role palyers and a deeper bench.
4. He has some off season aqusitions in mind but needs smaller contracts to make it happen.
5. (Conspiriacy Theory) Some how a failing Kings team is easier to move to Vegas. (Yes Brick I realize this is a move plot not reality, just making a list here)
6. There is another trade that depends on this one (note there realy is no time and GP did the press dance already)
