I love the Kings for a variety of reasons:

1. They're the home team. And it was so great to have a home team finally.
2. They seem to have a bond with the community and the fans that transcends the game.
3. The franchise seems to bring out the best in players.
4. Attending a game is like going to a college game. The excitement is electric and infectious.
5. The Kings play basketball the way it was designed to be played. The passing, the "TEAM FIRST" concept is a joy to watch, especially when it's being done well.
6. The Kings are the reason kingsfans.com exists.

Is that enough?

;)

I really don't know why I love them so much, I live so far away, but I just started watchin em and loved there chemistry. Especially the passing thing, I love how they are all passers willing to give the rock up, it's how it should be.

I like watching passing. I'd rather the Kings lose while playing with unselfish style than win in the SA mold.
Say what now?

You'd rather "look good" and lose than "look bad" and win? Who are you, Sidney Deane?

I love them because they wear purple and remind me of barney. Now, is that enough?

I like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. This ale is brewed in Chico, CA. Chico is near Sacramento, therefore, I am a fan of the Kings.

I like the entire organization. Not just the players, but everyone. The owners, the TV guys, the dancers, even the guy who plays the music. Everybody.

Of course I like the players too, but I put my trust in the whole organization.

theres n undiscrible feeling deep within my heart tht if i evn try cheering for another team i dont feel the same there something missing !! like an emptness in my heart

My last posts on this topic were just jokes so here's my real reasons why I love the kings. The team, the players, the organization, the owners, the fact that our respect is not where it should be, the feeling I get inside when I watch them play, the rush that comes with watching every game. Growing up I loved the bulls. I was more a jordan fan than a bulls fan so where ever he went, I would go. Anyways, the bulls were my choice as favorite team, but jordan was the main reason. So as I got older and the bulls fell apart and jordan retiring along with the lockout, I didn't know what I wanted as a fan of basketball. I then saw the kings with jay will, c webb, and vlade just lighting up teams with what I thought was some of the funnest basketball to watch EVER. They blew me away, as I'm sure they blew u all away. So technically the kings were the first team I chosed based on team play alone. I constantly think of the good ol days even if there only a few years ago. It angers me that we don't have a championship, but then I tell myself that we have the best organization with the clasiest town and fans. These are the reasons why I LOVE the kings.

Anyways, off to a party I go.
Good night yall.

It started about three years ago....

Id been gambling (smalltime) on soccer in the UK, but often i would lose the bet because although the team i was betting on didnt lose, instead they only managed a draw.Failure to win meant my bet failed. So i thought...let me find a sport where they play until someone wins. Find a team with a great home (or away) record and 'bingo' wait for the money to roll in!! lol

I had some moderate success with the Kings and obviously i was wanting them to win if i had money down. Then it gradually became more than that. I starting subscribing to the audio link and found the Kings webs site and the 'Bee. I didnt want to miss hearing a single game. I wanted to see some games, so i discovered a satelite channel in UK which broadcasts a few games from each team each season and i saw the players in action.

When i realised that the success of the Kings (or not) on the court was a direct influence on whether i felt happy or sad then i knew i was hooked and as much as i wish i had chosen an East coast team...(soo much easier time difference for me) that was no longer an option. I was stuck with the Kings for better or worse !

A couple of years down the line i heard a reference to this site and now i have lots more fellow fan friends to cheer the teams successes and bemoan their failures with!

When I came to Chico State in fall of '01, the Kings were starting their best season and my roommate was a kings nut and a member of this board. I hadn't watched NBA ball in years, and the team was just so fun to watch. They reminded me why I loved basketball as kid and I immediately became addicted. The way Doug always hustled, the way Chris and Vlade saw the floor, the way Peja shot the ball. Hell, the way they all shot the ball, I was so impressed that the entire starting five were competent shooters. Since Chico is a 1/2 NorCal 1/2 SoCal school we had some epic battles going on in the dorms that year. I have been an absolute addict ever since, I watch every game and ComCast Sports Net is greatest thing ever (for me anyway) even if Grant and Jerry pee me off so much I watch the game on mute and play music over it.

Proud that this is my first post.

sannityannex, the beer is better when it's fresh as can be.

I moved to Sacramento from Cleveland, Ohio, in the summer of 1998. At that time, the Cavaliers were on the down-hill (before LeBron) after being a perennial playoff contender for the last ten years, and I dreaded the site of having to cheer for the Sacramento Kings, possibly the most nameless and faceless franchise in the NBA. Even my friends in Cleveland laughed at me for having to root for the Kings. The only guy I knew on the Kings' roster was Mitch Richmond, their underrated star (underrated simply because he was stuck on the lousy-*** Kings), and even he wasn't going to be on the Kings next year, as he was being traded to Washington for one of my most hated players of all time, Chris Webber. I hated his crybaby attitude, his rebelliousness, and his extreme arrogance (of course, as an Ohioan I was taught to hate Michigan), and I rejoiced that time he called that timeout against UNC and lost the championship game.

Then, of course, we got J-Will and Vlade and Peja. And we started winning. And winning. And winning. And it was the most exciting basketball team I had ever seen. More exciting than any Cavaliers team I had ever seen, more exciting than any team I had ever seen. It was pure basketball heaven, watching J-Will's behind-the-backs, Vlade's finesse, and even Chris Webber's thunderous all-around game. And by the time the season ended, on that dreaded Stockton 3, and Vlade's missed baby-hook at the buzzer, I was completely enthralled. It was like I had never moved in the first place. This was my team. I convinced myself that it was not Geoff Petrie, but rather, I, who had brought it all here with me from Cleveland: the extremely high level of basketball play, the annual trips to the playoffs, and, of course, the incredibly bad luck.
