Miller is the last of a dying breed. The "for life" players. That is jsut not the way the current NBA works and Indy is to be praised for letting him finsh up old school. Of course it's easy to think of young players who have only played for one team, but in all honety rather than refer to them as for life players it is more accurate to refr to them as Yet to be traded or yet to walk players. Only one guy comes to mind that MIGHT be "for life" out of the younger guys and that is Kobe. The team gave up so much for him, had changed so much to acomodate him it is hard to see them ever being in a palce where trading him will ever be practical, and given the size of his conrtact, the size of stage he demads and his wonder relationships with other palyers it's ahrd to see Kobe ever really wanting to leave much less finding a better fit to leave for. Could be that down the road the Lakers/Kobe relationship may resemble a mariage of convience with all the pasion faded through the years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Iverson and Kobe tied for 2nd on the list of longest-tenured players with one team (behind Miller)?

Okay, you're wrong.

1st: Reggie Miller (18)

2nd: Kevin Garnett (10)

3rd: (tie) Kobe Bryant (9)
Allen Iverson (9)

Interestingly enough, the only two other players in the league who had been on the same team for as many years as Garnett are both playing for different teams this season. Anybody know (without looking it up) who those two players are?

I think Otag is one of them, I can't seem to think of the other yet.

edit- oops I guess it wasn't Otag since he wasn't traded.

Maybe I didnt understand the question. You mean guys that played 10+ seasons with one team and then switched this year? Or any year? If any year, then I think there are more then 2 guys out there...Kevin Willis comes to mind. Coming full circle after starting his career with 10 seasons in ATL.
