this is actually a rather interesting question. i would certainly not expect any of the maloofs to be present, even if a sale isn't finalized by the date of the draft lottery. i'd hope for ranadive, personally. get the face of the ownership group involved ASAP...
 
Yeah... Since we're hoping the sale is approved May 15, I'm thinking Ranadive. He doesn't seem too shy to go and as the head of the group it would make sense if it was him.

If somehow the sale doesn't get done by then, it would obviously be somebody random from the team, like Petrie or an ex-player or something.
 
CM Dave would be side splitting justice. Jerry Reynolds court, retire KJ's Jersey and mix in a couple of dynasties and we'll take from there.
 
It should be the face of this franchise, the best player, the heart throb. Isaiah Thomas should represent us with pizza from Pizza Guys for all the other teams in the lottery.
 
Ranadive if it's NBA'S decision KJ surely if it's Ranadive's decision & what a proud moment that would be for the 916 and KJ himself.
 
In response to the OP, as long as it's not freaking Adrienne Maloof again, I don't care. I would suspect either Kevin Johnson or Vivek Ranadive or BOTH. It would be nice to honor Carmichael Dave and Mike Tavares, too.
 
I actually really feel Kevin Johnson deserves it. It would also be incredibly poetic for the Kings to get the #1 pick even in a weak draft.

Stern was pretty adamant that this would be sorted out (at least location, presumably ownership) by the draft. If that's the case, my hope would be that a small team of people make the trip. I could see Vivek being there, with KJ, and surrounded by a small group of fan representatives, including Mike of course, and I would hope CD as well, but maybe a few others as well. It would be a great symbol for the league as well, as a nod to the fans.
 
Just to stick it to the Maloofs, Ron Burkle! :D

Honestly, it would be awesome for KJ to represent us and bring home the #1 pick! The man has got form! ;)

You know, I've been a bit on the fence about watching the lottery this year, seeing as I have to arrange to bail early from work to do it and we never seem to get the results. But I'd definitely tune in for a chance to see DMC get T'ed up by Price-Waterhouse. I would also tune in if there were a camo cap in the house.
 
What happened to sending the Sign lady? I also would not object to sending Mike, KJ, or any member of the soon to be new owners.
 
I've changed my mind. I think it should be Brickie. After all, he's already on the East Coast. :p
