It's a homer thread, so what! Its alright to be a homer sometimes! Especially if you love your Kings.

I agree with the guy who called out the hypocrits. Whats wrong with a lil optimism? Sure its a slight chance any of those guys will be allstars, but nothing wrong with dreaming.

I vote JT. Martin's a baller but the west is stacked with allstar quality guards. If JT pans out his versitality could get him in the allstar game, at least as a coach's choice.

Waffles are really a dessert. They taste great. But with candied apples, berries and syrup, and whipped cream, they really have too much sugar and carbs for healthy-choice people or old geezers like me sweating-out type-two diabetes. Waffles are like a very high quality jelly-filled doughnut with powdered sugar.

I'll bet Kevin and the kids like waffles.

Um, excuse me, are you trying to derail the waffle talk? ;) We have a very important discussion taking place here....

now, see, the berries are good for you. you can get 2 low fat waffles , 1/3 cup low fat whipped cream,3/4 cup of strawberries and it's only 5 points on weightwatchers. and yummy. you don't have to give them up, just change the way you eat. :D

I am more worried about sugar than the fat. The liver converts carbs to cholesterol. I think the popular cholesterol scare and prescribed statin meds is a corporate fraud. However, the big D is serious

I may have read in the NY Times that Spencer Hawes is fond of banana-nut waffles with maple syrup. Ron Artest does not eat waffles. He orders them, then just talks about eating them. I think Reggie eats his waffles "dry" so as not to spill any syrup or whipped cream and berries on his nice clothes.

I like derailed threads as much as the next person. I deserve the criticism i recieve, without question, i deserve it. I was just commenting on another's post. I in no way share that persons feelings against "the man" in charge of this forum. I have nothing but nice things to say about this place. But, it's hard to gain the trust of the people back once it has been lost, is what i think that person was talking about. As for me, people know im going to post flawed and obsurd remarks, and they sometimes expect it. Mods and Admins are unfairly forced to post at a higher standard, and I think that guy was trying(in vien) to impose a sense of duty upon upper echelon members of KF. He tried to remind us that we are all...human.

For my own part, I didn't take the OP seriously because it seems ridiculously biased to me. The only way that the correct answer to the question, as asked, could be anything other than Martin would be if you either believe that Martin is going to regress, or if you believe that he's already as good as he's ever going to get. I mean, you might as well have made your question "Do you think Martin has peaked" instead.

Good point, and thats always a question that needs to be answered. His shot still looks awkward, and after four seasons of spectacular play, im still not confident when i see him taking jumpers. But he seems to make a decent amount of them, so i can't complain yet. Martin is going to be the 1st option for the 1st time, and that will change the way he is defended. I seriously hope he has gained the weight needed to play the small foward, because even though Donte is 6'9, he has a sg's body. Martin will see at least 10 minutes of SF action a game, and hopefully it makes him better. His passing is suspect, and he left his crossover in Ohio. I really hope he doesn't get worse, but his game is a tad soft to know for sure, either way.

This thread reminds me of that time David Robinson got Happy-Go-Jackie on the big white guy like a donkey eating a waffle.

...what? the only thing i got from that was that you post flawed and "obsurd" remarks.

what i was saying is that i dont like people coming in here to mock and dump on a thread, while other threads (artest's goodbye thread for instance) got the "if you dont like this thread leave," and the post delete treatment by mods. yet no mod defended this thread. i ask why? who decides what thread is important, or what thread deserves actual answers, while others deserve to be crapped on? do mods decide? if a mod craps on a thread, is it then fine for us to crap on it thereafter?

and mods ARE held to a higher standard... its called being a mod. they are members, yes, but they hold powers that we dont. is it fair? im not sure how fair forum rules are, but by powers that be, a mod presides over threads. id like to see a more even hand. that is, if you crap on threads, all threads should be fair game. likewise, if there is to be no threadcrapping whatsoever, then i would like to see mods come in and delete/warn/wahtever the hell they do to posts.

the merits of a thread vary by opinion. some more knowledgeable members may think that more threads are stupid. some other people will think that all threads are fine. who decides? again, all i am venting about is fairness.

and to make things clear, i was in favor of keeping the artest goodbye thread positive and clean. and i do think this thread is silly, but i would still like it to have the same rights as all threads do. is that asking too much?

To a certain extent, yes. You yourself say it is a silly thread. The mods agree with that assessment (I think I can fairly say that for all of us, given the initial mod posts in the thread ;) ).

All threads wander around a bit, both on topic and off. Some threads are made for a very specific purpose (a goodbye thread, for example) and keeping the posts on topic is important since there are other threads to post the "praise and bash" opinions. Those threads have a distinct purpose and are more heavily moderated.

Threads like this, which are less, um, "thought out" comes to mind, are given more leeway to veer off topic since they can't be taken too seriously to begin with. Only one player listed in the poll has any NBA experience at all, and at least one other player on the team (Hawes) who had played fairly well in stints isn't even included. This "poll" is pretty lightweight, and therefore the thread is going to be allowed some additional leeway for criticism and wandering off topic.

Make sense?

And me posting this response to your question takes it even further off topic. :p

you guys are awesome... whatever happened to the "dont like this thread? dont read it" mantra that gets thrown around here by the big wigs?

im not saying this thread has any merit whatsoever, but the hypocrisy that you guys have is sickening. it seems that thread merit isnt based on the actual thread, but whoever has the longest tenure or post count. or who can ban you and who cant. am i the only one who sees this?

Glad someone finally said it. The hypocrisy here, and not just related to the topic of "thread crapping", is comical.

well...considering the alternative is Kingstalk, where people dont so much talk about the Kings as engage in a never ending "Lets see who the biggest ******** is" contest its not like there's much of a choice :p

None of the above will be Allstars in the foreseeable future. The competition is too tough.
That's true. I am still waiting to see Thompson, Brown, and Greene even play a game. Martin is a solid starter in the league, but I cant see him in an All Star game with how many talented players in the league there are. Especially in the Western Conference.......

If Kings would play surprisingly good with Martin as leading scorer(20+ppg) I am pretty sure coaches would put him in the roster, but he would really have to play like MVP:)

You know, all you complaining about the board are free to leave. Just a thought.

Oops - I derailed the thread again. Excuse me.
hm, where have i heard this before? oh yeah...
"dont like the united states? leave."

its attitudes like this that contribute to the degradation of countries and forums. you have no more right in this forum than i, nor anyone else. ill stay if i want to. and if i do so choose to openly question how things are run, i am free to do so as well.

warhawk gave me a response, and i do agree to a certain extent. i still think that there is some ambiguity on what is or isnt ok in threads, but to the extent that i brought it up, it seems to have been addressed. it looks like i am not the only one who thinks there can be improvements on this board. mods that care will take it into account. differences, dissent, are what give rise to change (hopefully for the better). what you advocate is pure stubbornness, and i hope that your hard line only extends to the internet, and not your personal life. but who knows, maybe this is who you are. sucks, i guess.

and as for derailing this thread, it would have to be on some sort of rail system to begin with, no?
