White American Basketball Players

I have been curious and almost scatching my head at the fact that there are very few white american players. This is by know means racist in any way because I love basketball whether the players are white, black, brown or purple I do not care. I was just curious were all the superstar american white players have gone. Yea there are white players, but most of them are average bench players or just mediocer. Why hasnt there been a white Kobe or Lebron recently. Its not going to keep me from watching the nba or anything just it seems like its getting worse with each passing year. I guess I am just curious about everyones thoughts as to why this is happening.

For the most part, because the best white athletes in the United States don't play basketball. Not unlike the reason why the United States isn't competitive in soccer: we're basically the only industrialized nation (besides, maybe, China and Canada) where the best athletes in our country don't play soccer.

Then what sport are the "athletic" white guys going to? And I disagree about your statement that the United States isn't a competitive soccer team. We may not be dominant like Brazil, but we certainly compete. I actually do think the most athletic white guys end up in Soccer... i find Soccer players much more athletic than Baseball players, Quarterbacks/Tight Ends in football, and Golfers. Hockey is probably next athletic behind Basketball and Soccer and attracts almost strictly white guys, but hockey is only prevalent in a certain area of the country. I think its just true that white people just aren't generally as athletic as black people.
