Which would be better? (Split from Amick thread...)

Let me ask you all this question snice the topic of moving Artest/Bibby are w/in this thread....

Do you think the Kings would be better..... IF.....

SF-Garcia-Salmons
SG-Martin-Salmons
PG-Bibby-Price/Salmons/Garica
and drafting a BIG like Hibbert, Hawes, or whoever is available...

OR......

SF-Artest-Garcia
SG-Martin-Salmons-Garcia
PG-Conley-Price/Salmons/Garcia
We use the pick to draft Conley of course....

Which team is better? You think with the recent events of PGs that have improved teams. There have been probally 4-5 guards out of the last two that were top 15 that have VASTLY imoproved their teams.

First, I'll take the team without Artest every time because he's such a head-case. Second, the question infers that we get nothing in return for either Bibby or Artest. I don't think that is realistic. Third, I don't like Hibbert at all. Fourth, I don't know which I like better, Hawes or Conley. If the Kings like Conley better, I'd defer to their judgement. For me, it's not about the position that player plays, it's how good a basketball player he is, period.

Than if that is the case we will take another SF.

I didn't mean to put we aren't getting anythign for Artest or Bibby, but I wanted to see which lineup w/o one of the two (Bibby/Artest) would be better.

IMO I like the team with Garcia at SF. I think he woul fit in well, and this could be a breakout year for him if we were to get rid of Artest. Remember. Last year I predicted a breakout year for Martin because of the confidence he got in the SA playoff series.

Garcia got a ton of confidence at the end of the year, and I beleive that it will translate into the next season.

That assumes a SF is the best player available. But if Michael J II or Wade II are there for the Kings to take, I sure hope they don't take Hibbert!:) It's easier to pick from the biggest universe of players - all players af all positions - than from a subset of that universe. And it's hard enough to get a good player in the draft, so why make it harder? You can always trade or go with FA for a positional need.

I agree with you. It would be much easier to replace Artest with Garcia from our current than replace Bibby with say Price or Douby. And I like Garcia a lot. I also think he can play with Martin in the backcourt in many situations. Among other things, what impresses me with Garcia is that he isn't afraid to shots at the end of games. The more players we have like that, the better.

Whichever gets us the best frontcourt help.

I think everyone is distracted from the pressing problem for the kings, which is a pitiful front court.

I don't think it is urgent that we get rid of Bibby or Artest. What is urgent is that we get rid of Miller, Thomas, and SAR. Those are the guys who will keep us mired in mediocreville as long as they pull down a combined, what $23M or so?

Artest and Bibby are expendable if that's what it takes - but I wouldn't drive either of those guys to the airport as enthusiastically as I would the whole sorry frontcourt.

Well technically they're our best trade chips so they should be able to get us the best frontcourt help... as far as moving Miller and KT goes I don't think Miller is tradable. His skills are sort of diminishing and he's becoming injury prone as well. Combine that with his infinity million dollar contract that goes for another 3 years and nobody wants him IMO. KT is a guy we want to dump and I guess if we deal him with one of Bibby/Artest that lessens what we get in return. We might be able to trade him for another malcontent though like Brendan Haywood who lowered his value in Washington by fighting with Etan Thomas and then demanding a trade. At least he is actually a decent player and 7 feet tall though. I think we might be able to do a deal like that. SAR would be pretty easy to move, his contract is decent and it only goes for another 3 years. He'd be a nice 6th/7th man off the bench for teams like Chicago or SA(once Horry is gone). Should be able to get some decent return for him IMO.

As far as who we draft... I like Conley so I guess that means I want Bibby gone(I want both Mike/Ron gone though). I think he'll be the BPA where we draft. I think he's going to be a great PG in the NBA similar to Isiah Thomas(whose college stats don't blow you out of the water if you go look them up on BasketBall-reference.com). I don't think Hibbert will be there when we pick anyway. I've began to like Noah a bit more because I read an insider article on ESPN from one of the guys who saw him in private workouts and he sounds really good, but I dunno that'd be a tough choice for me and I don't think he'll be there when we pick anyway.
