i gotta go with the rockets on this one..... they let rudy gay go for shane battier? dont get me wrong i think battier is a very good player but rudy gays ceiling and potential is way too high to pass on... i think they could have got alot more than shane battier

I agree. Battier is a nice player, but Gay could end up being an All-Star. Battier might be the better fit in Houston alongside McGrady, but I just don't think they got enough back. They were able to dump Swift, but they should've gotten back a 1st rounder, also.

Agreed on the Rockets.

Sonics also had an iffy, unexpected draft. Take Saer Sene at 10, another center project, for three in a row now in the 1st round. Then get a solid versatile player in Denham Brown, which is a nice pick. Then Yotam Halperin, an Israelian PG, who could be a project, but sounds like a pretty good player. Didn't really address anything, other than a back-up SG for Ray Allen, which was indeed needed since Antonio Daniels and Flip Murray were gone.

Wizards needed defense and they get a couple scoring SF/PF tweeners from Europe... guess it fits into their small-ball/more uptempo direction.

I felt the Knicks should have been more proactive to their many problems.... If I were a Knicks fan, I would wonder why the Knicks were not one of those teams like Portland wheelin' and dealin'. Houston, however, did not make a gret move either... it is a toss up in my mind.

gotta be the rockets. i'd love to move with the culture of the experience and say the knicks, but the rockets were more boneheaded, and that is fact. the knicks had the 20th pick. the rockets had the 8th. the knicks could have gotten a player with much more potential than the dude they picked, but at pick #20, its a crap shoot anyways. the rockets, on the other hand, had a top 10 pick that would have landed them a guy with HUGE potential and a HUGE ceiling. gay could very well be a star in this league, while battier has already reached the height of his ceiling. you know what you're gonna get from battier, and that's solid roleplaying to go along with some veteran leadership. gay, on the other hand, has more raw talent right now than battier has altogether. that's not a knock on battier. he's probably one of the most consistent, versatile, and hard working role players in the league. but you don't trade the 8th pick and stromile swift (overrating aside) to get him.

The Knicks and the Rockets had the worst drafts/trade by far. I feel sorry for NY fans and all the things they have to suffer through...

The Knicks, hands down. First of all, they would have had the second pick but traded it last year for Curry. Then they had two late picks which they blew on people projected to go deep in the second round if not undrafted.

Houston's move was questionable. I'm not thrilled with what the Celts did either.
