An underestimated loss however is Game 2 at Minny on the brink of two road victories. Big ol' lead, blown free throws late by Christie and missed open jumper by Peja or we may never have heard Webber publicly call out Peja/Vlade and whoever else he was talking about.

i agree, game 2 at minny two years ago should be on the list, since i wasnt watching the kings in 2002 id have to vote for it as slightly worse of a loss than last nights

game 4 and 7 vs the Lakers and game 7 vs the T'Wolves all made me cry. Gotta go with game 7 vs. the Lakers because I remember I was so depressed that I didn't talk for like 3 days and every day all I wanted to do was go to sleep because the depression was so bad.

No. I am three years old (born in 2003), and I am fully proficient in using a computer. i also know words such as 'proficient'. I am also a full-fledged Kings fan already... and I know I have a long life of suffering ahead of me.

Perhaps -- although as I mentioned I think the turning point was really Webb's knee injury in the playoffs the next year. Even after Horry's shot and that series, we came back the next year, piled on a bench better than San Antonio's this year, and were favored to win the title. But just that quickly it was gone. And that led to all sorts of unfortuante changes. The Maloofs retrenched financially after going into the red in an all out effort to win it, and finding out that all the backups in thw world don't matter if you lose your main guy. So the money dried up, and the bench eroded. Of course the injury set the stage for the season ending ick of the next year. Then for Vlade's exit. Then for the deconstruction of the team last year and Webb's own exit...that injury was the real turning point.

I was thinking about that one too. Many of those great dramatic games up above were amazing and heartbreaking, in a throw a pillow at the TV, throw your hands to the sky, don't know whether to laugh or cry sort of way. But Game 2 2003...that one mgiht have been the most sickening, sinking stomach feeling I've ever had as a Kings fan. We were the favorites. That was our year. And suddenly it was gone. Knew it the instant it happened.

Gotta agree here.

As painful as the series with the Lakers turned out, watching it and experiencing it was fun. The exciting basketball, the drama, the rivalry, the vitriol... good times.

Seeing Webb crumble to the floor though? Yuck. The rest of the series was chock full of heart and gutty performances, but ultimately five games of waiting for the inevitable.

Fair enough. Webb's knee blowout was unforgettable and stands out as a key turning point.

Anyway... what hurts the most is forever the big shot rob shot... Game 6 and 7 hurt alot but if not for game 4 and that dagger that still has yet to be removed, we would have won.

this is a tough heart breaker. it is up there in pain, i do think. but its alot differnt because none of us should have honestly felt we would win this series... we should have felt we would win that series...
