I just don't understand it . I was such a hardcore fan with all the passion in the world. I loved the Kings . We had such a high character team. We had such a talented team . We had a team nobody but us believed in. We had heaven as sports fans.

Now we have a team like everyone else in the league . Passing is high school level compared to our kings .Passion is gone . The heart is gone .

I would have rather rode out the death of Cwebb and the crew til they couldnt play anymore than watch this crap.

I have never cared about a sports team as much as that team . In sports there are highs and lows , but why do we have to create an entire new identity?

Why start over all of our foundations and characteristics?

Am I just a fair weather fan or someone genuinely dissappointed?

This team is a joke.

Artest is a POS .
Brad Miller is terrible.
Mike Bibby doesnt have it anymore.
Team play is a joke.

We have gone back to mediocrity and why......

If you feel the way you're expressing in this thread, then - to be trite - you've lost that lovin' feeling. And there's nothing wrong with that. Fans come in all varieties with all kinds of philosophies. Some can weather storms better than others.

I don't feel the same way you do, but I'm sure there are fans out there just as frustrated. Watching your team come so close and then slide slowly back into the muck and mire isn't for everyone.

I hope the passion returns for you.

There are fans who are excited over the name on the front of the jersey no matter what and then there are fans who are excited by a certain collection of players. I put myself in the second category, i'd think you'd put yourself there too judging by your post. I got into the kings originally by following vlade there, then after i saw the style of play and the great team chemistry, i just fell in love with the whole team. Once that team started to dissolve I lost a lot interest and now I'm basically frustrated because the team keeps holding onto this over patched team in this unrealistic attempt to rebuild while still competing. I think they could've taken some real strong rebuilding steps had they started making the necessary moves this past offseason and deadline, but they didn't and I don't think I'll still follow the team unless they make a huge change during this upcoming offseason, but the idea was to get a good draft pick in this draft, but they'll probably end up at the tail end of the lottery. I don't think I could ever be blindly loyal to the front side of the jersey, I don't live in (or near) Sacramento and I've never been there, so I don't really have a strong connection to the franchise or its history but I love watching basketball and I prefer to have a team to follow and the kings are the team I follow basically out of habit.

Unfortunately(or fortunately, depends on how you look at it) I am a bit of both of the categories you listed. I am a fan of the team as long as they're in Northern Cali/are the Kings but it is pretty hard to get excited about what we have now(besides Kevin and Price of course).

Damn I miss that team with Webber and Peja and Vlade and Bobby and Doug. That team was so awesome.

All my life I've never stopped to worry `bout a thing,
Open up and shout it out,an never try to sing,
Wondering if I've done it wrong,
Will this depression last for long, wont you tell me,
Where have all the good times gone?
Where have all the good times gone?
Where have all the good times gone?

the kings of the golden age were (are) truly special, and they drew me to sacramento. now that they are gone, and we are rebuilding, it's tough. but, to paraphrase, "only when you know the depths of the deepest valleys can you appreciate the climb to the highest mountains." (-um, some dude)

the kings will make it to that mountain top one day.

i just really, really hope it's during my lifetime!

Or by 2012, because apparently that is when the world is supposed to come to its end.

When will the "Good Times" return?

They'll be back when we start winning games consistantly.

Untill then, we *****.

Some of us we were fans before the team was good. I love this team good or bad...

People shouldn't mistake the words hardcore with fairweather.

I could understand if you dont live in or around Sacramento that it is currently hard to stay interested, if i didnt live here i would have a hard time staying a fan, but i feel a certain passion whether this team is good or bad, its hard to explain so i wont try, but i think some of you get where im coming from.

Someone (probably here) said:
I'd rather support mediocre players who are good people than good players who are mediocre people.

That's one reason enjoyed the mediocre Kings teams of the 90's more than the Artest/Musselman squad of today.

A high character team? Uh... Vernon Maxwell, Jason Williams, Chris Webber? They may have avoided trouble while in Sacramento for the most part, but it's not like they were saints.

Hate to tell you but that team wasn't full of "character" guys like you think. We have always had players with an edge to them. CWebb, Keon, J-Will, etc. All good guys but trouble seems to find some people.

I know C-Webb had some problems with drugs or something early on in his career but IMO that's not nearly as bad as what Ron did. Same with Keon. Ron's accused of beating his wife. If convicted then he's a wife beater. IMO that's totally different than what Keon and Chris did.
