This is where things can potentially get problematic though. This last stretch once and for all cements the fact that this team as a small baller can do what Walton is expecting on both ends much better than the old school big lineups. Parker can fit into that small ball identity in some ways as a big. The question is what happens with the bigs? Holmes and Bagley should fit but how does it work from there? They can't let injuries turn out to be the short term by chance saving grace and then waltz right back into what hasn't worked all season in almost every configuration possible outside of that brief stretch towards the start of the year.
I’m going to venture a guess he won’t bring the defensive impact and intensity.![]()
It’s great that we’re finding such chemistry again, but the crappy thing about this is that we have more guys coming back from injury that we have to incorporate all over againGive coach Luke credit for staying with the guys in that 4th quarter that were making it happen. Would’ve been easy to go back to Fox and Bogie there, but Buddy, Baze and Cojo were getting it done.
Yeah, right now I like Bazemore way more than Ariza.
Yeah I really dont know what Lukes gonna do when Holmes and Bagley get back. Harry back to DNP-CD? Holmes may be better fit off the bench with Parker? and play Bagley and Belly to start.
Bagley /Holmes
Belly/Parker
Barnes/Bazemore
Bogi/Buddy
Fox/Cojo
he’s literally on record saying fans don’t pay to watch defense lol
that's an old quote made under very different circumstances.
I agree up front Belly and Holmes is win now. But also is Parker not in your rotation?Give me Bagley and Giles off the bench again. Just like last year.
Holmes you can integrate right back into the lineup and he will make an impact. He can defend the pick and roll, he shoots a high percentage in the paint and the Kings won some big games with him playing. It's Bagley that I worry about incorporating.

It's going to be tough if the Kings keep playing like this. Look at what is going on here lately. The rotation has been refined to your typical 8 1/2 to 9 man rotation basically. That's another big part of why we are seeing consistency. Maybe Walton could tinker with playing some guys some nights and not the others but that has been a huge fat FAIL when he's done it before. Also, Barnes is playing most of his minutes at PF, just like at GS. That's been a game changer defensively.
Sometimes people change after being served a heaping helping of humble pie.he’s literally on record saying fans don’t pay to watch defense lol

And that’s the rub. As he is currently constructed, Bags is not a good fit in the current nba. However, he has the tools and needs time to see if he can become one. We are very likely a worse team when we give him court time to try to figure it out. Injuries don’t give him court time. Its really such a depressing topic to me.Bagley doesn't fit. He's a black hole when he gets the ball and demands it on the block. He's not good on defense, and he's not good enough on the block to halt the offense for him. If he were a Webber type who could use a double team to get four or five dimes a game from it we might be having a different discussion.
That is true. But I think it was Petrie who said, he's a King until he's not a King. Blank slate and hope for the best. But just as often, they do not.
