Whatever happened to the draft pick the Kings got from Atlanta?

I was thinking about the trade the Kings made in 2002 that sent Dan Dickau to Atlanta for a future 1st round pick, and I was wondering if anybody out there had any information about this pick? Have the Kings already received/traded this pick away? I know its wayyyy too soon to start thinking about the draft and who the Kings can get in 2006- Don't worry, thats not where I'm going with this thread. Its just really bugging me that I can't find any info on this pick! Anything anyone knows would be great.

To save money. Mateen had less on his contract. The Maloofs figured if someone is going to barely play it might as well be cost effective.

That list is crazy- Sac owes Orlando a pick with no due date? What the hell? What happens if Sac decides they just don't feel like ever giving them a pick? I guess since it takes priority over other picks in future trades, it makes it difficult for Sac to trade picks, but that is still very strange. Trading picks is a curious business anyway, so I'll just be content in thinking that it makes no sense and leave it at that.

1st round pick to Detroit. #1. Must be Sacramento's. No option. Due between 2005 and 2008.Top-13 protected. Orlando must first receive their pick from Sacramento before Detroit can receive this pick. Deal could be subject to change if terms are not met.

I think that page is just missing the deal made between Sac and Detroit (and possibly Orlando). The bolded part doesn't apply any more since the Kings don't owe Detroit a pick any more.

Unless, the Kings already gave Orlando their pick (I don't remember if they have or not).

The Kings are scheduled to have their pick next year, but they might end up giving it to Orlando if they haven't given them one already.

While I don't understand what 1999 could possibly have to do with a pick I believe was part of the Mobley-Christie deal, I have to say looking at the roster for 1999 brought a lump to my throat.

We had so much promise ... and so much to look forward to. And it was the beginning of something so wonderful and so special.

Ah blast.

Where are those stupid Kleenex?

;)

I don't think we gave a pick in the christie deal, did we? Because it says it was part of the 99 trade, and we only had one draft pick( a second rounder) that year.

I honestly don't know... All I know is I followed the link and got all misty eyed and sniffly... and forgot what I was really looking for.

Not nice to do to an old lady...

;)
