Well, ideally it's a weakside shotblocking floorspreading spot shooter. Larry Sanders could come close. Serge Ibaka is nice too. Problem would be getting those guys. Josh Smith could be an option but I'm not sure about his desires in terms of his role. I think he wants to be the "man" which won't fly but if Reke leaves this summer it could be an option. He's also not the same type of defensive presence an Ibaka or Sanders are. Patterson is a decent fit for now.

A few options in this next draft. One option in this upcoming draft I like is Jeff Withey out of Kansas. He reminds me of Tyson Chandler, better shotblocker but not as athletic maybe. If the Kings draft high someone to watch out for would be another stretch 4 in Anthony Bennett. Not an awesome defender but he's a beastly finisher and has legit SF skills. Very reminiscent of another former UNLV big man in Larry Johnson. If he comes out, if his health checks out, and if the Kings are even higher in the draft Nerlens Noel could be a perfect next to Cuz.

Serge Ibaka type!

This is the obvious response, but the problem with relying on your PF to be your anchor is there are maybe 3 guys that can do it (Ibaka, Sanders, Davis) and I don't see any of those teams giving them up anytime soon. The PF position has evolved into probably the strongest offensive scoring position, along with PG. Boogie puts us in a unique situation being an incredibly skilled offensive C, while being a huge liability defensively. He doesn't have a precedor we can compare him too because he can't defend the PF position.

I don't understand this notion that you cannot play certain position if you cannot defended it. Why can't he play PF on offence and C on defence? It's precisely what we did with the Dalembert-Cousins combo that was kicking but and taking some names in the process.

Offensively, Cousins was playing PF and Dally was C, but defensively, Dally was matching up on PFs (West, Dirk, Aldridge, Amare, Zebo etc...) and Cousins was taking on the other big man. There is no reason why that cannot work. Cousins has a game of a PF which makes him a unique offensive talent so it is important that the player you play next to him can guard both PFs and Cs depending on the match up. Dalembert did that while he was with us. Ibaka can defend PFs and Cs.

Who you pair with Cousins does NOT have to be a PF, it just needs to be someone who can defend both PFs and Cs. Dalembert pairing worked pretty well because of that. If Cousins didn't have an offensive game suited to a PF, then yes you are correct, but he does have that skill set which makes it a bit easier for us and if that PF/C can knock down a mid range jumper at a reasonable percentage then it makes it SO much better for us.

For all his short comings, Dalembert's mid range shot, although somewhat mechanical, is pretty effective. Ibaka has added that to his arsenal which makes him a heck of a lot more valuable than this time last year.
