What seed/how many wins next season? (merged)

Ummm here's a new one - our front line needs a change. If not----

Definitely Can't beat:

Clippers
Lakers
Suns
Mavs
Spurs

Probably can't beat

Hornets
Utah
Denver

If Artest keeps the same perfect attitude:

#8 Seed

Interior defense/rebounding will be addressed with the time left in the off-season. I think our perimeter defense will be good. Outside shooting will be there, even if part of it is on Garcia/Douby. Douby should be pretty good, Garcia should be improved, and Price has shown a nice shot. Might be something there with Price's shot.

Denver/New Orleans/Lakers have holes and questions of their own. The Jazz HAVE to stay healthy, mainly AK47/Boozer. If they do, they'll win the division.

Oh, thank goodness. For some reason, I thought improving the team was going to be difficult.

With the team they have right now, Kings 9th seed. Point guard is aging, no inside game, new coach (although Musselman has had success in the past, the transition to a new team can be difficult), Artest can barely hit 40%, unknown entity in Salmons, owners who would rather be elsewhere - let's be honest.

Mike Bibby is 28 years old. He'll have plenty of guys behind him now (some who'll actually be utilized regularily now) who can play the point and handle the ball. Which one or two guys are the main-stay at back-up pg? That's yet to be determined, but the players are there to do it.

No inside game? Ron/SAR are proven and effective in the post. If you don't realize this, you haven't seen much of these players. Musselman has a different situation than in Golden State, a better team (even right now) than then, and with more moves will be better. Most of the players fit what he likes. Salmons versatility, length, and athleticism is known, and will be nice off the bench. He'll have a consistent role and oppurtunity here, as in Philly AI had the ball most of the time in games - literally.

Ron's offense isn't pretty/flowing/graceful, but he's very solid on offense with his versatility. Also with another summer of working on his game, specifically the jumper, and being in game shape - he'll be better on offense. Ron worked on his jumper last summer and said it felt good, and it looked good until the trade demand and 1 1/2 month off. That obviously took him out of his NBA-shape and condition, but still played at a high level for us and completely turned our season around.

All we have to get really is interior/defensive big men. Which has been hinted at, wanting to be done - recently, and earlier this month. 2-3 months left to do that.

Teams like the Grizzlies/Nuggets have more holes than us.

Right now, it's really pointless to predict a playoff spot. As there's still a ton of off-season left.

Clearly way to early to tell.
I will predict playoff placement at one spot or another, no doubt.
Let's do this again on opening day.

Our frontline sucked last season...and we beat all those teams at least once.

And you got Lakers on the definately cant beat list? Thats just plain silly. We need maybe 1 player (obviously a C) to be a dangerous team again. The Lakers need...I dunno, 3 new starters and 5 to 8 new bench players?

I would love to see Kobe get an injury that puts him out for a season (nothin career damaging like Webber's though...I'm not that spiteful) just to see what record the Lakers get without him...I give them 25 wins.

All the other teams will get beat by the Kings at least once, some twice, and I could see us sweeping Denver and maybe even the Clips again (although this is prolly their year to finally get a W against the Kings).

People need to be less negative. As it stands the Kings are an above average team one or two moves away from being great again. Everyones acting like we're the Hawks or something.

Losing Bonzi doesnt effect the frontline.

Miller and Shareef should pick up the rebounding slack (at least defensively).

K-Mart starting at SG isnt a downgrade in talent, he just has a different set of strengths and weaknesses then Wells.

Salmons coming off of the bench insteada Martin is a slight downgrade, and it sucks that Petrie hasnt gotten a big...but that was more Bonzi's fault than his.

I dunno, if people wanna be negative they can..But I still see this team getting around a 6th spot in the playoffs. Maybe even higher if Petrie pulls something off in the next couple of months.

Agreed ^. And, I really expect there to be 1 or 2 more moves made to get big men. With months left, and us being loaded at the 1/2/3, the only deals done will be for big men (in a trade as the main piece of course, if there's more than one player).

^^ agreed.

I am sorry to say as of right now are not that good of a team.

We have Bibby, Artest, and a bunch of other guys. Miller is or has been playing like he is 40 the last couple of years. If I had one thing to tell Miller it would be just get down and dirty, and REBOUND.. Get garbage points, dive to the floor.. We have Martin who is unproven (although I believe that he might be the biggest suprise of the year, and earn a NBA most improved player). We have Thomas who can wreck the chemistry with one word.

Bench is ;

Garcia - Unproven
SAR - Proven, but what happened to his rebounding?
Salmons - If he can play up to what we are paying him than I will be happy.
Douby - Unproven

Folks, we have a slightly above average starting lineup, and an unproven for the most part bench. This spells 8th-10th seed. Give us a year. Our players will develop given the chance.

Wow, I think that is underrating this team a bit. We'll see next season but I like where we stand, even after losing Bonzi. I am really excited to see Francisco and Kevin get their chance to play.

And I think we can be a very good team now.

who do the lakers, jazz, nuggets and grizzlies have that are so much better than our players? their hole are a lot worse than ours....

the lakers have a horrible bench... kobe is a beast, odom is cool... but kwame, radmonovic, smush, cook and walton arent a threat to anyone... who knows about farmar.... sasha is whatever, then they have bynum and mihm.... wow...

the jazz.... it wont matter what they do, if they play well they win their division.... how does that affect our seeding? if they falter they dont make the playoffs....

the nuggets... see jazz....^^^ its one or the other.....

the grizzlies im not to sure that they will be making it very far... who do they have outside of gasol? i couldnt name their starting 5....

the only teams that i am worried about are the hornets and rockets.... i think that we can beat the clippers...

but do you really want us to get 5th seed? mavs or spurs in the 1st round... 6th is the obvious choice to face the nuggets/jazz or 7th to get the suns...

maybe we should wait until the schedule is announced... so we can see what we are up against at the beginning and end of the season... compared to the other non-contenders...

Okay, I'm just gonna throw caution to the winds...

In a season that will amaze and astound, the Kings will win 80 games, losing only to the Hornets and the Hawks.

;)

haha. The kings will be 5th or 6th seed. The Grizzlies are gonna kick *** this year. But, the Mavs will be 1st seed season through.

Agreed. Even right now, the Nuggs/Grizz/Lakers have more holes than us.

No upgrade or backup at PF/C, no Bonzi, and w/ a new coach= lucky to make the playoffs.
Sorry guys, but losing Rick and Bonzi w/ the fact that we used our MLE on another guard just doesn't excite me. I really liked the chemistry we had going into the offseason, but with all the moves we're back to square one.

huh, ya the girzz will be awesome now that they got stromile swift, and a rudy gay who im sure will be a great player down the line, but he wont contribute as much as shane did, right away. West was just talking about how they're taking a step back. No the griz will not kick *** this year unless you consider kicking *** to be following in the footsteps of the portland trailblazers and new york knicks

Hell, we're back to line one.

The Jazz have a team that is in a weak division hence the 3rd seed. They will win the division imo but barely be above .500. As for the 8th spot I think it will be us, the Lakers, and Denver fighting for it. Ig you want to make it a bit more interesting take the 7th seed, and throw us in the mix with Memphis, Lakers, and Denver. If we could get 6th and face the Nuggs, or Jazz that would be awesome. That means in the second round we would face Phoenix, or the Clippers. We should be 7th-10th though, and only getting that high based on heart alone. 7th beaing if K-Mart develops into my sig below next year.

Prediction: How many wins will we get

Currently with this roster it's hard to predict a high win total i would have to say somewhere between 43-46 if we end up doing something ... something that will impact the whole win total then things can change but at this point i have no hope we're gonna end up making a big move. ;)
